There're actually a lot of treads on the standard Maxxis tires, its just that they feel like plastic rather than rubber, and it takes a real long time in warming up.

I dont mind spending for tyres. I'll check out the tires later on.

Its still cheaper than $260 for a set of Dunlop's.....

oh.... And someone stole the cat spikes thing.

But nvm, I have another 3 more at home. There were also some cat fur on my seat.

I'm suspecting it could be the guy whose scooter the cat was sleeping on put the cat on my bike and he took the cat spikes for himself.

Darn!

You mean if use very good tires go over long kang grill, man hole, road marking will have little skid when wet?

I think how good the tires, if wet over those stuff will still skid/slide no?

Michelin PS SC then 7 years ago don't grip well when dry already. Don't know if now still the same?

How about Diablo? Silverwing thread mention not as good as Metzeler I think. Wait I go confirm...

I was already going very slow when I need to rev up to move the bike. It skidded instead.....:(

It was metal grill cover before a hump at my workplace. And some more during rainy day.

Yesterday nite, I max out on my bike......again

(I think by the time reach 20k can scrap my bike already)

The LEA7 variator that I have on the bike is not suitable for that....

Not as powerful as before, takes a while before hitting 130km/h....

Felt a lot of lag when i was speeding up and down the expressway, negotiating

thru the traffic. (lag.... like where is my power when I need it) It will pause for a

while then come back again.

Then when i came to a stop...................... the rpm went bonkers and stayed at 2000rpm.

After a while, it resume back to normal at 1500rpm again....... scary......

Anyway, today did a more constant run and it was a normal smooth ride again.

So maybe my wish came true afterall..... power not like previously, but a much more smoother ride.

The LGE5 with the "test" clutch pad felt very good in terms of power. Hopefully can change back to that or better when the new stocks arrive.

Pay to test-ride rider...........lol

Seen Michelin Pilot Sport -> gaps between groves are huge! Plus rubber quality more or less like the Maxxis'....

No wonder its cheap. Pirelli looks ok, but for $24 more and I can get German assurance, why not??

Sadly the smoothness of my replacement clutch lasted only 5 miles from the garage to my office, on the way back home when taffic was at its peak the lovely vibrations and slipage came back, very dissapointed.

Next step, replace the bell, I have ordered the molossi bell and I am crossing my fingers that the one I found for the shadow 300i will fit my DT (In theory it should work :)).

I want to take advantage of my brand new clutch and will nurse it until I get the new bell, replace it and sand a little bit the pads.

Hopefully it will work out well on your side. Then I can also opt for the same part later.

Let us know how they feel out of the blankets :)

Oh.... Its absolutely MARVELOUS!!

Though it took a huge task for the mechanic to remove the exhaust to gain access to the rear tires, resulting in a 2hr installation time, it was well worth the wait.

I can now feel the tyres rotating, whereas the Maxxis' didn't give me any road feel at all even on dry roads.

With Metzeler, the whole scooter now feels so planted! But the challenge is to see how well these set of tires can last. It was the last 5 sets apparently.

Do you mean the LEA7 clutch instead of variator?

Yeah, I do get it when the scoot is very hot with hard riding. During idling I give it some gas to play play and it stays at 2000rpm before coming down after a few seconds.

Today so quiet, getting ready fro friday or because it's a rainy day ha ha.

Just realize the 'test' clutch we are using are LEA7 with the new material.

Wonder why Kymco didn't use LGE5 instead.

Synman you got the LEA7 clutch instead of LGE5 sets me thinking.

LEA7 is lighter and LGE5 is heavier, by how much i do not know.

Wait, i've got one set at home let me go and weigh.

Then again the material also different may contribute to the weight difference.
