how to flash? wats the name of the bottle of thing u pour in to clear the rust? where to flush the water in and where the water flows out? I really dunno a thing abt this radiator. Die ah.

mm.. u can actually buy the bottle at any shell station. I think if i not wrong, it cost around 5 bucks.

Go to any bike shop tell them to flush the coolent for u lo. Cos usually bike shop dun sell tat but they do sell coolent water.. So they will use tat bottle together wwith tap water to flash for u .

One more thing, when u go to shell to purchase tat bottle, rem buy one 1.5 litre or distilled water tat would be enough. Example Polar

So they will actually use the distilled water and the coolent water pour inside ur coolent radiator

Reason is tat tap water will rust the the coolent radiator, but not distilled water..

The rest u can leave to the mech to do le.. ..:cheer:

If you're not sure just get a bike shop to do for you. I can't remember what brand the flush was, STP I think or maybe something else, was just on the shelf in car shop back home.

Coolant also heats up slower than water and has a higher boiling point than water so won't boil out of the overflow bottle as quickly and bike won't over heat as quickly.

Distilled water will still rust and corrode, but is much better than just tap water for sure. Best though is to use properly coolant.

When we actually wash or clean our carb, the tuning will be gone. So the mech need to actually retune back to the proper setting

coolant is added to yr radiator to prevent rust and anti freezing..

however coolant's heat capacity is higher resulting poor absorb of heat energy and poor release of heat energy...

in other words, the heat from the engine will disperse out slower resulting in heat being build up in the engine.. coolant is a poorer medium than water for heat transfer...

in sg, there no such thing as winter... how low can the weather temp go??

that y the coolant mixture is 50/50 wif water and not completely juz coolant.

sg tap water hav some minerals added in... distilled water is purely H2O..

the minerals in tap water hav bad effects on the radiator..

the bike shop which i went to yesterday got a better solution than my current coolant(the green one)....

My mech told me, his solution will be mix with battery water too... :cheeky:

He said that 'that coolant/solution' performs better than the green ones in keeping the bike temp low... Sadly, it's out of stock...

Anyone got any idea on this?

Just to check on tyres, Currently i'm using Sportec M1. But the rear size is 160, but heard from the old birds that size 170 would be better? Is it true?

170 tyre won't fit on a CBR400 rim.

the common coolant that u purchase at the petrol station hav anti-freezing which cannot disperse the heat well..

engine ice and water wetter hav onli anti-rust which is suitable for sg weather...
