I had one idea about a place we might all meet up some time in the future though. I live in Condo's near Alexandra road and there is LOTS of free parking either out side or in covered carpark where we can park all the bikes and have a look and a chat, I am happy to provide some drinks and snack foods and stuff for us to eat and chat. I also have some tools so if there is something small you want checked out or adjusted or anything we can do that too.

 

It's just a thought if anyone is interested.

Well I can provide some beers and some soft drinks and the place, anything else will have to BYO. We could book a BBQ pit and cook and stuff if people are interested after looking at bikes, up to you guys, its a private estate type thing closed off from public streets so there is heaps of space for us to all park together and check out the bikes and chat without other cars and noise and stuff around. Would be pretty good I think.

 

How about something in early December maybe weekend of 3/4 December around 4pm or something so there is still plenty of light but not so damn hot and then we can have some drinks and either cook food or get food from the hawker shop, or all ride down the road to Queensway shops and park up and eat there.

 

If people are keen I shouldn't be working that weekend and we can compare bikes together and look at fixing any little problems people have etc on the day.

Exactly Hurricane is a great fun bike, just have to be a little picky when buying and buy with the expectation of doing up, not just riding into the ground. Mine cost me $1.5k total and was in reasonable condition, better than many others I looked at and I have since spent a bit of money on doing it up, probably more than most people would but I like my bike to be perfect, must be reliable, fast, stop good, sound good and lastly look good

 

That list covers some of the main things to check out and budget for. There are some really good modications you can do after that to make it handle REALLY good and run better but it all depends what your goal is. I have an NC23 racebike at home so I am doing similar work to my roadbike here but leaving the engine a bit more standard for day-to-day use. If you want any help with Hurricane parts/repairs/upgrades etc just let me know as I like these bikes and am happy to help if I can.
