smoother engine?? cant really feel much cos 4stroke bike is smoother than 2stroke.

But been told tat my tuning will loose as time pass by cos my throttle is a fast response throttle. Theres no return cable... so it will get loose.

so, blades, don bo liao go change a response throttle. :cheeky:

Fast throttle cable is not for cl2a and above. No use.

Get the original set from FJT. i bought mine for tour ride spare for $40only.

Fast throttles work great on class 2a and above bikes. Means you can reach full open throttle without having to take a second handful of throttle.

Your tuning getting worse over time is nothing to do with having a fast throttle or just having 1 throttle cable as this has no impact whatsoever on the carbs or the tuning of the engine. If the cable gets loose you just adjust it and its right again but generally they will last for years and not need adjusting often.

Accumulation of dirt in your carbs over time is what will make your tuning go out. eg rust from inside tank, dirty fuel etc it all accumulates in the carbs, also the balance of the carbs will go out after a few months with each carb becoming slightly out of sync with the others just through general use so when you get it serviced next you get them balanced and cleaned and its all nice again.

If you want to get rid of your fast throttle I will buy it off you and put on my bike and you can go get a 2 cable one :)

when i did my servicing... the mech help me do the tuning using the electronic device. Once he had set the tuning in good par already, he throttle n let it spring back... then test the tuning again... its gone. He told me tat is bcos theres no return cable.

donno who is more correct...

cos i think the return cable is able to pull the 'gates' close back to the original place...

there is two cables, one to pull open, one to pull to close..

with the return cable, the 'gates' may stuck leaving a bit of gap..

sorry guys hope u understand the meaning of 'gates'

That could be due to your carbs sticking open or needing servicing. It is impossible for opening the throttle once to cause the bike to go completely out of tune.

I run single cables fast throttles on both of my CBR400s back in Australia and they work perfectly, much easier to get full open throttle as a smaller movement of the wrist is required.

One other thing to bear in mind is that the tuning is set by balancing the carbs so that they are all in sync and then setting the jetting correctly to match your bike setup. These are all manual tasks that need to be adjusted by hand (you may use an electronic meter to check balance by adjustment is still by hand as is any adjustment to jetting and mixtures). It is impossible for opening and closing the throttle to change these settings.

There is a spring on the carb which will make it return to closed when the throttle is let go even without a return cable. It might be worth looking if the spring has rusted or bound up if the throttle is not shutting off correctly. The return cable is more of a safety thing incase the pull cable breaks you have a spare basically so the throttle won't just snap closed instantly and the bike COULD still be ridden.

Anyway if anyone wants to get rid of their fast throttle cheap just let me know and I will take it :)

if u're riding the L model,i think u don't need to change to yoshi pipe.your original end can MV4 is an hollow pipe not like the R model.

i've been riding L model in mid 90s for almost 3 yrs den change to the R model. Hmm .. so much different in power and fuel consumption.i tried my L upto 15000rpm where speedo hit the nippon seiki mark. i donno the actual speed but it's more than 200km/h compared to suzuki meter and not full throttle so i doubt it can go more.

i do fix yoshi end can,did some tuning but makes no difference.now L model is consider an old bike .. ard 15yrs OTR.hopefully they still maintain the power.well .. recond bikes are much more better than the production ones.

This is based on my experienced.I still love the L up till now
