Problem1: suspect clutch plate wear off already. If during upslope u rev a lot, and the bike power come 1/2 a second later and surge suddenly. Then confirm is clutch slip. Ride for few more weeks and u will know. The biting point will take longer and longer until u can feel its very obvious.

 

Problem 2: Start with the cheapest. Check the fuse box's fuse for the lighting. Change a fuse even if that is not spoilt. Also ensure the cable for the speedo is properly sercure. The wires are behind the speedo. From fuse box to speedo there is a connector in between. Check whether its lose. Only speedo light flicker? Other lights such as headlight or horn can use when high speed? Check battery and rectifier also if you duno their history.

 

I always keep spare fuses with me, one whole box of them, both car and bike fuses, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30A few pieces for each rating. In case my friend's bike/car fuse got problem then can help out. Or else tow waste money just for such minor problem. Get in bulk from those car parts shop very cheap only abt 30-40 cent each. If u get from sim lim think is 50-60cents. Get from those big car accessories shop even worst, they may charge u 1 dollar each.

cannot be clutch plate,cos i just change one month ago.if u talking aout clutch slip,i think maybe the eng oil i use play a part.now using R 4 plus a bit of mobil.

cos some eng oil too "thick",clutch may slip too...tio bo?

i think i just take out the bubble screen and check the wiring behind.if u say fuse ,fuse blown meant supply is cut off.

 

for my case it is not like that,sometime have sometime dont have...u "drag" the bike sure have,ride at low rpm,sometime dont have...

no fuel..push from jb custom to nearest mobil.

 

 

second time;

fuel pump spolit,push from jb caltex to singapore with FULL tank!POWER man that one!unforgetable...

 

third time;magnetic coil spolit,lucky near my house,push back my house then call tow!

 

but i must say becos of all these,i get to know more about my "wife" and start to understand what her "pattern" is like.

 

 

till now never regret buying this bike although i think repair till now totalled up to 1.5 k at least.

 

but i enjoy every moment of it with her...hee hee!!this is maybe what they call "passion" for the bike!

anyone knows what problem it is. when im riding. i can really smell the fuel smell of my bike. damn strong. den my bike mileage suddenly hit reserve at 130+km compared to normal 260km. is like the fuel is evaporating and i can smell it. went to pump 5 litres den travelled for ard 20km and i check the fuel like almost all finished. any1? :help:

this one very general lei..a lot of things can be the cause.

 

if u really smell strong petrol,most prob is somewhere leaking petrol.check your petrol line..i meant trace it from the tank all the way down...

Wa...this is serious problem. 5 liters is $8+ petrol only travel 20km? I think take cab better got air con somemore.

 

Check the floor got petrol or not. Then check your petrol line, from fuel tank to the switch at the fuel tank, then to the fuel filter, then to fuel pump, then to caburettors. Sure got leak la. Running rich also not so jialat ma.

 

Or maybe some one steal your petrol. U are becoming his petrol supplier. Everyday he pump from you bike. Nowadays petrol ex, so no choice.

The higher speed rpm different maybe u would like to check with others abt the gear ratio. CBR400rrR and CBR400rrK different, so I dono what is your correct speed at which rpm. I forgotten mine since my R model sold so long already. Observe more and see how.

 

The fuse thing, maybe u change see how. Sometimes things cannot be explained and changing maybe helps if the fuse is faulty (not blown) but connection sometimes have sometime dont have. If the connectors not lose. Then I think since u say high rev no problem. I suspect is battery. Check the voltage. When u never rev, the voltage is lower, when u rev its higher so thats why when u low rev the lights all dissapear bcos the voltage fall too low. Or maybe is magnetic coil or rectifier. Electric thing very difficult to track, eyes cannot see. I scare electric problem the most. Currently also troubleshooting the hurricane electric.

 

I not good la, but similar problem I faced before I roughly know. The bike is not mine. Its my friend. I only add subrider and help ride around during the rebuild only. Spend 1k+ already on the rebuilt.
