help needed: vespa keeps dying

hey guys. i just bought my px 2 months back. was running well at first but after the piston jammed, everything went wrong. ive replaced the piston but since then my bike will suddenly died off at 2nd gear while moving off.

 

ive to wait for awhile then i can kickstart it again. went to tong aik but they say is the electric coil but not sure. they wanted me to replace it but it's quite costly and they're not sure if thats the problem.

 

anyone with the same problem kindly advice? thanks alot.

If ur bike running on cdi then maybe its the coil. If its running on contact point, then ur contact point needs to be change. Or maybe its ur jetting.

hey man appreciate the reply. But i'm very new to all these and i'm quite confused about your reply. i'm not very sure what's my vespa running on so is there any way that i can check it?

where do u reside in bro? if the east side, go to the industrial park behind safra tampines. block 9004. ah loo work shop. look for cik Ali. to me he does wonders to ur bike. he will find out ur problem in a sec. not being biased. but i started doin with him and sticked to tt man eversince.

 

from the looks of it, did u kickstart it many tymes before it would start? if so, either ur pick up coil or ur carb is in a mess. but i doubt its ur pick up coil provided it happens frequently. cos if it were to die. it will die for such a long tyme. u might haf to tow it to shop.

 

but then theres no harm trying the shop i recommend u. just say me, Arie recommend u to tt shop.
