For a strong challenge for the new season, it would be great to keep both Alonso and Mascherano. The team has played well together in the past 2 seasons and has put up a really credible challenge in the last one.

exactly...

it's not about how many goals the player has scored or supported in

it's more about how the team has learnt to work as a TEAM

 

rather than look for a replacement to fill in the large shoes that Xabi would be leaving behind...

Lets hope Marsherano don't go off... he's the hard working, tough tackling central midfield and i think he is a vital player... But i think i read somewhere his family are not allowed to stay in England, thats why he wants to go...

It is not that his family is not allowed to stay in England rather then his wife is not enjoying staying in England and you can imagine why. The language is a problem. No wonder he is looking at Barca, Spanish would be home ground for his family. Sure hope he does not go.

Alonso is gone... Only pending Medical.... Thats so ****... It seems like the whole of SG is chanting his name and hoping he'll stay when the Reds came... A week after, he's gone.. oh my oh my.... that feeling sux... anyways... We gotta move on with or without him.. Rafa can find a player his calibre, i believe he'll be able to find another that can suit in the team..

Reds fan reporting here!Yeah YNWA :) Alonso last season shd b already gone as benitez wanted to sell him for funding of Barry..So its good for him to leave as there is already hving a bad relationship with the boss.. Anyway hope the new signing shine for liverpool and show MR ALEX Feguson for wat he had said.. >.

hopefull auquilani can adapt to EPL. watch his videos, his passing and vision during the gameplay are wonderful. its best if we can add silva or villa in the squad.

Aquilani seems good from you tube... i'm excited and waiting to see him in action... we have a good midfield of creative players... Riera, Benayoun, and Aquilani.. mascherano as defensive mid/anchor man in front of defence, torres up front and gerrard in between Aquilani/ Torres.. I believe we'll see a lot of through passes with good runs at the front and some spectacular longshots...
