Insurance issue to add as sub rider.

Hi, hope fellow riders can enlighten me on this.

I just passed my class 2b. and i wanna buy an insurance to be added as a sub rider to my friend's bike. He intends to sell it to me but his bike is still under COI to bike shop. I would like to buy the insurance myself instead of going to bike shop. I would like to know what is the actual procedures to go about doing it.

If you are not the owner of the bike, the only way to cover yourself is as a sub-rider. Only registered owners are eligible to purchase motor insurance.

 

This is a little known fact, which I found out not too long ago, so I will expect alot of postings challenging my comment.

 

Do check directly with your insurer on this matter.
