SBS 2008 Network File Problem

Hi,

 

I have a Small Business Server 2008. And the problem is that only one user in the network is not able to open any M's Office file while other users is using the file. The user is running on Vista machine and is not an user account problem. Anyone encounter this issue before?

What happens when the user tries to open up those files that you've described? And what would be the behavior or error message displayed on the screen?

 

P.S.: I see that you declared that it's not a user account issue. It'll be most helpful if you described to us the initial troubleshooting that you've done with this issue, before you came here.

The user will not be able to open the file till the other user finish using the file... for example the other user open the file for half an hour... the user office 2007 will just state downloading that file which is open... no error... i tried to rejoin the pc to domain but still having the same prob... tried repair and re install office and the prob is still there...

I have no clue dude. But if I were you and if I had extra stuff lying around, I'd first try this in a workgroup environment...i.e.: 2 computers connected to a switch. This should probably show if this is a software or a network issue.

Yea... This is a hard 1... Other forum is nt able to solve... i already tried in workgroup n it works fine...

How about having him log on via another desktop computer.

 

If the problem goes away when he does that, we need to check his user credentials, and then his own computer.
