Hi bro,

Just my views as a unlucky person who happened to experience a accident and the accompanying headaches before:

For old cars/ bikes, I tink it is in the fine prints that the insurer's repairshop will use old parts for replacement/ repair.

But the issue in question is that the shop is submitting a inflated repair cost to the other party's insurer? That they have used old parts, and I presume put in the claims form as new parts? I presume this is a common practice. The papers already reported this countless time, of workshops inflating the repair costs. For some, the workshop split the 'profits' with the ownder of the vehicle.

Funny thing is, if the bike market value is just 2K, why would the other party's insurer allow you to repair up to 6K (eventual claim maybe 4K) instead of scrapping it? Funny how things works.

Well, the surveyor...I dont know about you. But for my old, old Version S Super 4 which I owned a few years ago, damaged in a crash...the surveyor somehow missed that the frame is a goner, and it is not noted down in the notes. How about that?

Maybe you should speak to the lawyer/assistant instead? Confronting the bikeshop owner for anything will not yield anything, i guess.

Perhaps you should just sell off the bike. Dont care about the repair cost since you are not footing it. (I guess)

Just recuperate and focus on the main claims on your part. (The pain and sufferining component, loss of income, medical bills...etc)

Best regards.
