Hi, every1. I just got myself a cpi gtr150 last wk. Bike pick up so so as compared to my previous gilera 180sp.

But to my amaze, top speed only 106kph on full throttle.

Wad to do to increase to say at least 120? (is it possible)

Cos the belt n roller dunno wear out anot. its a fbd 1yr old bike I bought 2nd hand.

Shop asked me to change to kevlar belt n dr pulley roller. Dunno if it will help.

Cos I mainly travel on expressway n 106 is really slow.

The meter read 106 but it felt like 90 when I'm driving....

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:

I would sugguest do a full servicing. U will never know what the previous maintainence schedule is like.

4 stroke scooter is like that lah. Pickup comfirm is slower than 2 stroke.

To hit 120 is subjective. I'm not sure if CPI GTR got secondary gear upgrades or not. IF you throw this upgrade in. Sure will have higher top speed. But pickup will suffer.

kevlar belt is stiffer thus will transfer power more effectively as it cancel out belt flex. Also it will last longer if the rest of the bike is unmodded.

Dr pulley roller is nice. My personal experience is good. The variator wear is minimium as compare to stock. (Mine is a 4 stroke 150) It helps in acceleration and top speed. Topspeed maybe increase by aprox 5km/h

Going 106 but feels like 90? I can only say 2 things. First Non of the 2b bikes speedo is accurate. always got some error one. A runner at 135km/h may only be actual 110 or at best 120. Second. When you feels like 90. Have you take into consideration that maybe the bike is more stable when compare to runner? Just a guess. Like those old toyota cab. 100 can feel like the toyota cab like going super fast. But on a merc 200 or BMW. 100 like no feeling like that?

Anyway. I always like one American statement regarding automotives. There's no replacement for displacement.

U want to go faster. Get a 2A or class 2 bike.

Maybe I old already. Can go 100 is good enough for me, As I used my bike as a transport bike more than fun bike.

Spot on!

When drivin wid windows down at 90+, felt like 100+

Windows up at 110+ felt like 90+.

And this bike quite heavy n stable + handling not bad. So maybe this contribute to the "felt like 90" thing.....

I'm also old liao, consider a uncle now, lol.

I just recently sold away my r1 so another cl2 bike is a no-no for me.

Actually I quite like maxi scooter. Maybe get 1 in future ba, not so soon yet.

I simply love the tmax but storage abit lousy leh. Best for storage and the look I like is the k8 burgman400 but abit ahpek to my likings....

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:

Hi benson,

saw you in the cpi gtr thread earlier. just to share with you, the top speed i reach with my cpi is 110. fully stock condition. nv change roller or belt. actually i tot the meter reading is quite accurate since it is digital compared to analog. and i've tested it with a fino analog speedometer and cpi is much more accurate.:)

its a nice little scooter but think I'll ride it for another 1.5yr till installment finish den see if I can afford my dream tmax. anywae, tmax rumour coming out 750cc. so just enuff time to wait n see.

Everytime I go bikeshop n see those cl2 sports bikes, I keep havin the temptation to get back a cl2 bike. But seriously, I need a box n its a big no no to fix 1 on r1,gsxr1k, cbr1k or zx10....

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:
