I'm heading up to Tristan Park with a few friends. We just need another 5-7 pax in order to occupy an entire bum boat to avoid the wait. So let me know if you're interested. Closing date is 25th Oct.

http://www.tristangroup.com

Place: Tristan Park, Pengerang Malaysia

Date: 31 Oct, 8:30am - 5pm (Sat)

Meeting Time/Venue: 8:30am @ Changi Point Ferry Terminal (1hr boat ride)

RT Ferry Cost: Approx. $24

Course & Fees:

Beginner/non-rider: $70 (For beginner, there will be basic bike handling in the circuit in the morning before proceeding into the park for actual trail riding in the afternoon.)

Intermediate/Trail: $90 (Group will proceed into the park for trail ride straight away.)

Included in course fee:

The bike, full face helmet, glove, elbow, knee, shin guard, and petrol

* You may bring your own riding gears if you have any.

A 50% deposit needs to be made to reserve the bikes so those who wants to join, please transfer the $94 (beginner)/$114 (intermediate) to me by 26th Oct (POSB Savings: 188263224). SMS me at 92780089 once you've made the transfer. Alternatively, you can book your bike directly with them and just transfer the ferry $ to me.

What to bring:

- Passport

- Sunglasses/glass to protect against dust and sun

- Long sleeve tees for sun protection. [OPTIONAL]

- Jeans or thick cargo pants. Advised not to wear tight jeans to avoid getting abrasion.

- Riding boots, or army boots, or hiking boots, or sports shoe.

- You may bring a small backpack to carry WATER, your camera, handphone, and wallet.

- The park provides hot shower, towel, and toiletries.

No idea but on their website they offer the course to kids above 8 yrs old so I am sure they have bikes for various heights. They say they will match the bikes according to your build so no worries la.

Anyways, very few are shorter than me.... :cheeky:

In the event of rain, depending on duration, they will give half or full day refund. I've spoken to them about the height and they reassure me that they will match the bike according to your age and build.

Thanks to all those who came and made this trip so much fun. I was certainly feeling out of whack yesterday from all the falls I took. :p

I'll upload the photos I have tonight and maybe more feedback on the park, trail for those who are interested in making future trips.

Here's my opinion on the trail, etc

Trail

- Morning part was a good initiation to dirt biking with a mixture of flats, rough terrains and a couple of slopes.

- In the afternoon, I followed my non-rider friends on a simpler route and that was rather boring compared to the earlier session. Heard from the other intermediate riders that the afternoon session was even more challenging. Wish I've got less of a conscience. :p

Bikes

- Condition of the bikes are so so. We've had a number of problems with the bikes including difficulty in starting, worn out brakes to leaking radiator. The park later charged us for some broken parts incurred by falls....A little unjustified some of us felt since the bikes weren't in that great condition to begin with.

- Two of us ended up with pit bikes (125 cc) and imo, those were not that great for tackling some of the deeper/wider ditches, etc. So try to either be at the park early so u get the best choices or make sure that u reserve only the non-pit bikes.

Riding experience

- I don't really recommend this for non-riders who are less adventurous. My non-riding friends told me that they were just shown the basic like how to start the bike, where the controls are and were then left alone to ride around the compound. Although the staff were there to help when they fall, they certainly didn't teach much. Thus when afternoon rolls by, they didn't really have the confidence to go on the trail. The park was good enough to split us into 2 though so that they aren't forced to go beyond their abilities.

- Non-riders might want to consider taking the ATV instead to fully enjoy the trail.

Logistics

- It was fairly easy making reservations and KC is quick in responding. Note that a 50% deposit needs to be paid in order to reserve the bike. Reservations is highly recommended as they get filled up fast.

- Overall, its a good idea to book your own bum boat since that ensure that the boatman will wait for u. ^^
