ok, then the source of the sound will have to be traced, if it is coming out near the exhaust, then look at the attached pic. there are 2 allen head screws securing the triangular cover. start the bike and twist the throttle. does the sound come from this area?

if so, press on the triangular cover with your hand and twist that throttle again. does the sound go away? if so, get a washer, best to have spring washer, undo the 2 screws, put in the washer and tighten it back. it should take away the sound. but WARNING : please do not overtighten the allen head screws. plus get spares screws 1st from a shop a street behind LAB. apply some grease on the threads 1st.

if the sound does not come form the exhaust, listen very carefully and tell me where the sound comes from. and PLEASE metal sound is not "PUT PUT" that's farting sound. :sian:

i hope everyone can contribute all info on planet, regardless of how small you think the contribution is. Not much planets around, so we got to help each other. I hope this thread will not degenerate into a talk c*** thread which happens to all the other so-called bike specific threads, where they talk about everything except the bike. ironic yah?

any info pertaining to the bike is good info. no problem is too small, no question is stupid. but lets try to be clear on explaining the problem so help can be rendered.

Yusa battery FAQ attached. clearing my folders.

here it comes! valve cleaning DIY. tools need

1) long set of allen keys

2) WD40 or kerosene or petrol

3) a bit of 2T

4) set of sockets and spanners

5) long nose pilers

6) sand paper, coarse and fine ones

7) replacement valve gasket (from minvera, $4)

disclaimer : i will not be responsible for any damage to your vehicle if you follow my instructions and screw up your bike. i have done this more than 10 times and bike still runs like a dream. but if anything happens to your bike, blame it on bad luck. heh heh heh. and excuse the quality, all pics taken using camera phone (E700)

1st remove all the clips with a long nose piler. if you can remove it with your fingers, go ahead. at the top corner clip, you need to pull back the long stick holding the radiator. just a bit will do.

now you can see the cagiva torque system valve aka CTS valve. remove the 4 screws you see. they hold the valve. there's one more screw at the side, we'll get to that.

insert allen key in to remove the pulley cover screw. hence you will need long allen keys. if you find it hard to undo the screw. get a spark plug cylinder opener, those round ones, cover the end of the allen key and push, it will give you extra torque to undo the screw
