Hi everyone,

I would like to ask what the procedures are for bringing in a 2nd hand bike from sg to msia? What fees are imposed?

Does anyone know about a detailed guideline on how to do so?

Thanks a lot!

Ethwyn,

For the Singapore side, it's easier. You de-register the bike for a nominal fee and bike can be towed to Malaysia. However, the issue becomes more complex when you reach the Malaysia side.

You need an Approval Permit (AP), which is from non-"Buatan Malaysia" vehicles, to register the bike in Malaysia. Unless you're a "somebody", it is near impossible to get an AP as APs are usually sold to well-known bike companies such as Naza, Harley Davidson, Welly, etc. Plus, the AP will bump up the price of the bike two times or more.

Search this website for more on this matter. It has been discussed before.
