Hi all,

 

wanna find out from you guys... can we pump Octane 95 petrol for ST ? pump prices are even increasing and thought maybe can save some money but still wanna keep bike in good condition lar

 

btw, saw in the latest copy of the Asia Motor, a test from them put Shell's claim of more mileage of their petrol to test, and the results is true that Shell's petrol really did as claimed... anyone has any experience before ?

 

another thing... my wife when sitting as pillion complain that the it is quite hot at her foot area.. i guess maybe its near the 2 exhaust... is it normal ?

i always pump shell 95, till recently i started going across the causeway to get their V-power

 

dunno why i seem to get better mileage after that

 

maybe it's just my wishful thinking....

 

as regard to the next question, my wife doesn't seem to have that problem? hmmm... maybe she has a higher tolerance to heat there's no complains from her with regards to the heat problem so far.

Welcome to the ST siao/joker family. From wat I know is that most ppl replace stock air filter after using knn coz some said loss of top end. But some wanna save $$$, 1 knn and use mamny times.

 

ST is power enough no need to do any mod.

As for me seldom pump petrol in singapore. the other side save more $$$ on petrol.

 

me pump pertonas....try V-power b4 it seem to consume more than the others.

 

As for the heat ur pillon complain...eerrrr.....dunno coz no wife/gf feed back ...

may be it the heat when the fan start

it's normal, it could be the misplaced air-hose. she will need more time to adapt to it, try to ferry her during nite time..

 

petrol does play an important role, Sgp & near neighbour's fuel r perfectly ok, all r good quality from bukom island, shouldnt have any plm.

 

our far neighbour's fuel r bit 'hey-wire', poor mileage than usual.

 

no petroleum company will announce their fuels r of inferior quality..

with K&N air filter, it will running on 'richer' air fuel mixture than the norm.

 

it work entirely reverse when on highway compared to stock air filters.

 

in term of cost efficiency, K&N fits the budget of every owner.

 

stock air filter cost about Sgd50, K&N cost Sgd85.

 

it doesnt mean u replace with K&N filter ur bike will out perform others, it work well for budget hunters.

Just came back from a refueling trip, don know why at jb checkpoint got super jam but woodlands s'pore checkpoint don have.

hi all,

 

notice that my ST is quite hot, is it normal ? today was the first time i wore bermudas and sandals on my ST. after abt 10mins on the expressway travelling constantly at 90km/h during the night, i feel a lot of hot air coming from somewhere near my foot and blowing all the way up to my inner thighs.. and they were sweating ! is there a problem some where ? the temperature guage is at around 1/3 level...

 

and after 1 wk, i start to hear some "cling" sound from the engine when at low speed... what could be the cause ? told Asphoon (where i got my bike) this problem last saturday when i went back to collect my IC... they ask me to try come back on weekday to give them ample time to let the engine cool down to let them rectify the problem... also promise to replace 1 of the blown headlight... seems not bad... the person keep telling me no problem, they'll honour their warranty.. so far quite satisfied...

 

so i'm leaving my bike with them to check this wednesday, hopefully, can get it back in the evening for the gathering
