hi Normen11,

think we should be conservative regarding the parts' pricing, unless it's a very common item like the side guard covers, plugs, filters & etc..

hi ashenZ,

1) as per manufacturer's reccomendation any multi-grade up to SAE40, most common is 10W-40. the brand of engine oil is purly up to individual.

2) find out during our weekly outing, not that good to announce the cost. different shop sell different prices.

hi BoonHean,

it's the blown starter/head light fuse, not difficult to DIY change it, should be 20A. the fuse housing is just located below ur left seat's side pannel from where u r seating. removal as per amen23's instruction.

this is the common symton for a faulty rectifier, be alert.

sorry guys, :offtopic: a bit...

went boon siew to buy the original ST11 key.

guess i was too excited to deal, coz rushing off to work.

mine is a 95 US model, but i ended up buying a key with a "ST100 Pan European" logo on it. asked my friend who's riding a US model, he says our bike key only got "ST1100" wording on it.

who wants to get from me? still in original packing, with the part number slip intact. i think ST11 keys have 2 types, one with a shorter shank, and one with longer. mine is the one with a shorter shank.

please let me know.... of course, i havnt got it "cut" yet :cheeky:

thanx

hi everyone,

wow, the forum is finally up again :) thanks everyone for all the advices... i changed the fuse but still could not start, in the end, Asphoon tow my bike back in the evening. went back the next day and was told that its wiring problem. ask them to change the batt and rect. for me but they insist they're working fine and no need to change... no choice lor....

btw, since my bike is so old and bought 2nd hand, i was told to change my timing belt also.... wonder how critical is it ? coz quite busy lately and thinking of dragging another month then go change... coz most probably it'll take a whole day at the bike shop.....

hi BoonHean,

it's better to change the timing belt with new tension rollers if u r not sure of the bike users history, but then it will all depend on ur usage. if u r a frequent traveller, it's best to have it changed.

since it's the dismantling of the components, might as well have the coolant pump replaced. these should be replaced as a buddy, it will guarantee u another at least another 80,000km usage.

wiring plm is always the big headache, throughly check the wire harness, replace it if neccessary.
