hi guys. got some questions regarding this road tax renewal letter i just received in the evening. correct me if im wrong. my road tax gonna expire on end of this feb. the letter doesnt indicate for me to go inspection. but from what i know, to renew road tax after a year, need to go and pass inspection right ? now im confused. read the letter many times already. the letter only stated about renewal of my road tax

so means comes end of this month, i go to inspection ctr,pass the inspection and then go ahead and renew my road tax is it ? and show my road tax letter ? thought must have a inspection letter to go ?

inspection of vehicle is for vehicle that is more than 3 years.

 

usually you will receive the letter asking you to go for inspection before a certain date, followed by the letter asking you to renew your road tax.

 

at least this is what happened to me last and this year.

what stanco said is correct. if you need inspection, your road tax renewal form will indicate that you need to bring the inspection certificate...and you would have received an earlier letter to inform you that inspection is required. otherwise, inspection isn't required.

If the letter didnt indicate means no need inspection.

if urs is less than 3 year old bike or just went for inspection 6 months before no need to go for inspection...

i got my bike last july, and previous owner gave an inspection cert, dated 6 apr 2009. so how guys ? best that i just go for inspection ? i dont mind going, just wanna clear doubts, thought inspection need letter then can do ?

Read the road tax letter sent to you carefully...at the bottom of the letter will indicate whether you need to send your vehicle for inspection. In the letter will indicate whether you need to go for inspection before you can renew your insurance and road tax. If you do not need to send your vehicle for inspection then the letter will indicate that you need to present your insurance certificate when renewing your road tax. Call up the inspection center and they will assist your with your enquiries.

If we renew road tax online, do we still need to validate the licence disc/road tax disc? the letter state the road tax disc is invalid unless validated, how do we go abt it if we renew online?

when you renew online, they will send you a new road tax disc, usually within 3-5 working day.

yes you can. i renew my road tax online thrice liao. they sent me a new road tax disc without fail so far.
