It actually depends on what bike you have. Last time I lost my keys, called the locksmith, sent a lorry down and tow my bike. Few hours later, the guy was back with my bike and 2 keys. I didn't even need to move an inch from my house but apparently it was expensive but who cares....compared to the feeling i have when i realised my keys were gone. Just go down to those locksmiths near LAB and ask them for pricing then it's either you get a friend with a van or lorry to tow the bike down or you can do it like me. If you really can't find any other solution, let me know, I'll give you the contacts to my locksmith....remind you again, there are cheaper ones than mine...

2006 - Honda SP 150

2008 - Piaggio X8

2009 - Honda Silverwing 400???

2011 - Yamaha FJR 1300???

You can check the yellowpages for locksmiths. Some of them will come down to your bike to duplicate a new set for you. That time I enquired, the prices were between $35 to $45.

ar? take out ignition? my SP have to take out the top part of the front fork, not easy even with the tools. not sure about other bikes.

the last time my friend lost his key, he changed the ignition key hole, tank key hole and the rear key hole for $200. SP also.

besides the ignition key switch, you can also remove the fuel tank cap, helmet holder lock, and bring the fuel tank cap or helmet holder lock to a locksmith to make a new key.... no need to tow the whole bike to the locksmith brother....hahahahahahah....

YAH, CALL a locksmith... save more money than dismantling the bike. Call one that has the factory codes. I just had a wonderful experience of breaking my key inside the key hole. It was a terrible thing and I just got my bike... The mechanic had twisted the key too much... A****** motors. You know where... din check and insert in... when i went to pump oil the key broke in the keyhole... TMD.

Anyway called the locksmith. Price range from $50- $180. Most will say that they will need to take out the lock...

Therefore. Dun listen to them wanting to take out the lock. There is this locksmith that has the factory codes. Call him!! he can make the key and he has the small needle like thing to pull out the broken bits! by right pulling out is cheap... but the earlier mechanic came but failed... thats why $120. Anyway, it was lesson well learnt... and it was spectacular watching the locksmith as work. Amazing. So get one with the factory codes. They make keys more original than your original set.
