Hi all,

got the above question.. if anyone done this before?

The bike is still going to be registed in SG

1)can a Malaysian Licence holder buy insurance for this bike in SG?

2)can LTA accept transfer of ownership to Malaysian Addressed owner?

if the above is Yes .. that mean the new owner need only to renew the insurance and road tax/inspection yearly

If NO .. please advise plan B, C or D

Thanks

Best person(s) to answer.....LTA.....calling them will only take awhile. But the answer is precise.

SG-plate has to be SG-licence holder.

and have to apply SG insurance.

so your answer is no. unless he/she converts to singapore QDL and gets singapore insurance.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

yes. my cousin bf is a msian. he has to convert his msian licence to spore 1. then buy insurance in sg. the rest of transfer is standard procedure at LTA.

Yup, I agree that the posted procedure is correct.

I'm a msian with an sg plate bike.

But need to have a work pass/student pass in order to convert.

As for license conversion questions, go to this sbf thread

Johjoh/Fredi,

thanks for the info ..

Fredi, so your cousin registered the bike with SG or Msia address?

You're welcome, glad to be able to help.

For me, i registered my bike using my sg address.

I'm not sure about registering using msia address, but I think should be able to. if they don't allow it, at most register the bike using friend's address with his/her permission.
