X6 is using an old OS which lags... based on the T3 magazine i read this mth... Milestone would be a better choice with Android OS and more apps... upcoming is HTC Desire which will be released soon...or u can check out HTC Legend... Android phones are getting better... OR if u can wait...den wait for HTC Droid Incredible...its better than Iphone...

I am a Milestone user over here.

To summarize the milestone, it's basically a value for money phone.

With regards to the internet speed & browsing experience, the loading of webpage is pretty fast and the browsing experience is on par with an iphone/ipod touch. It features the same features like an apple product, pinch&zoom and doesn't really has the 'lag feeling' when you scroll from pages to pages. If you're not convinced, you can always hope down to the starhub shop and try the browsing experience for yourself with their demo phones.

Apps wise, it's an android phone thus there's such a preinstalled apps called the 'Market', somewhat similar to an iTunes store. There are over 50,000 apps for you to choose from. For our local market, it only offers the free apps which is pretty awesome already instead of the paid apps over at the US market. But you can always root your phone like jailbreaking an iphone to get more control, customizations & system files. (you can overclock your milestone from 550mhz to a stable 1100mhz etc)

Down side is that, Motorola advertised the milestone as an adobe flash ready phone. Right now the version we had for our local market is 2.1 only. The next update 2.2, will have features faster processing speed, adobe flash, wifi teethering etc as promised. But few days ago, a spokeman for motorola said that milestone might not get the 2.2 update and we'll be stuck with 2.1 forever, false advertising by motorola.

Overall wise, it's still quite a buggy phone (search for problems on milestone on google and you'll know what i am talking about) but bugs that you can live day to day with.

Actually starhub do offer the Motorola XT, which features a better camera, HDMI output, lighter and more features. Maybe you want to do a comparison between the xt and milestone.

If you can wait, wait for the Motorola Droid X or either the HTC Evo 4G, which i believe will be the best smartphones out there once it reach our shores. News is that everything is not a confirmation until Motorola decides to come out with a GSM version for the Droid X.

Regards,

kifakw
