I remembered that after I sold my RS250, I received a fine for illegal parking under the old bike. I went to AS Phoon and they apologised the lapse but rectified the problem without hesitation. Mistakes are not uncommon. But what matters most is how you rectify the problem that preserves your reputation and integrity. Anyway, I went on to buy several other bikes from them, even the last bike was bought from AS Phoon. A mistake well rectified deserves a loyal customer and earns the reference for new customers.

one reason why i avoid dealing with ah beng/ah lian type of shops regardless of how cheap the price or how friendly the person is .

Well got some bad exp in this too..... Have ask to pay a deposit to buy a car as i just want ed the car so i paid $500.... than found out that the car was an accdent car...Sian... Call up to cancel...Than got to know that i cant get back my deposit saying they paid the bank to try my loan.... than check with others car shop that the $500 is going in to the sale man and boss pocket.....

 

Than just recently got a letter from ntuc saying that my last car that i sold over 1 year back have an out standing balance for the last mth......

And they WAITED 1 year to send me the damn bill.....

Ask them to show prove......Waiting and waiting.....

true..its the after-sales service that matters.u wanna keep going there, not just on the 1st day

thanks for the heads-up. there are too many rotten apples in that trade. thats why its lots easier to trade-in the old car when buying new car. these chaps are too tricky.

When you trade in your car or bike with the shop, always insist on their receipt with the date and time stated that they have taken possession of your old car or bike. In this way, if there's any traffic summons and/or dispute after the handover date, this receipt will show as proof that they had taken full possession of the vehicle and will be liable for any traffic offenses committed thereafter. Reputable shops will do this without asking, but...... there are others who are rather dishonest in their business dealings. So beware.

you get them to pay you in cash. at your house. and just let them take the car. like a trade. almost like trading your lunch at work or school.

wah..noted....got alot of funny dealers offering funny price and strange methods to settle my cars...anywa if a dealer is really interested in buying your ride over, it will be a very fast and fuss free event..i can say all of them will pay full in cash 1st for e buyer to settle outstanding loan....

anyway dealer life also quite hard, they have to lie about the condition of the car when selling most of e time and then cook up storys when buyer come back and complaint abt break downs..not as if they are selling at a cheap rate anyw...

 

* just to side track abit for car buyers, when dealing with dealers, pls make sure what ever promise,warrenty ect is writen black and white in details with both parties signing off. and to make sure your car is trouble free...requst to send e car for a FULL STA inspection. pay $120+ for e inspection better than paying alot more for repairs if buy a 'touched' up car!~

Most buyers just have to be extra careful when parting with their hard cash and everything is best to be in black and white.
