My road tax expiring in Aug while insurance expiring in Dec. I had not done my inspection yet. Should I :

1) Do inspection 1st then renew insurance till Feb'10 ( to tally with road tax expiry date ) and road tax at insurance company

OR

2) Do insurance renewal till Feb'10 then do inspection and road tax renewal at inspection center ?

Thanks.

Renew insurance first, then go for inspection and do road tax at the inspection centre.

It depends on how much bank interest you can earn by keeping your money in the bank till august.

Some people like to keep cash till very last minute.

Some people have to wait for salary to come in to renew road tax.

Actually I prefer to save time and effort.

Just go to insurance co to renew your ins to match the road tax date( be it 6months or 1 year).

Again, some people like to pay 6 months by 6 months, dont want to give gov their money too early.

And then go to inspection later when you are free(before august obviously), after getting the pass cert. You can do the road tax at the same place.

So only need to make two trips.

If you do the inspection first

Then go do your insurance.

Then go do your road tax.

It will be three trips!

Unless your insurance co can do road tax renewal together.

Then there is no difference.
