Hi,

This question has probably been asked many times before.

I want to take up 2B licence. I understand that there is the theory and practical aspects of it. There is also a TP test. And I know some centres offers you to book in advance...Questions are:

1) Do I have to complete theory before booking practical?

2) While taking theory, can I book/Do I need to book practical in advance? Or is it a auto-moving (no booking needed) on to practical after i pass my theory?

3) Do I need to attend class for theory? Or can I study at home and just go for the test which saves me more money?

Thank you all for your help

For your info, I'm taking 2B at SSDC. Just in case there are some differences between centres so you know what you are comparing against.

1) Do I have to complete theory before booking practical?

- No. However like the post above, you need to pass RTT and get your PDL before you can proceed to On Road Practicals. Before getting PDL you can do the circuit practicals.

2) While taking theory, can I book/Do I need to book practical in advance? Or is it a auto-moving (no booking needed) on to practical after i pass my theory?

- You can book practicals while taking theory but at SSDC you can only book one practical at a time. Not sure about the other 2 schools. Not sure what you exactly mean by no booking needed but you definitely have to book for your lessons, else the school won't know when you are free to attend practicals.

3) Do I need to attend class for theory? Or can I study at home and just go for the test which saves me more money?

- Yes, you need to attend theory classes. This is different from Class 3 where you can just study (or not) at home and go for BTT/FTT. At SSDC, you also need to take 3 theory trial practices and then clear the theory trial test before booking RTT. Again not sure about the other 2 schools.

Thank you Silverelf for explaining to our fellow newbie over here..The answers are pretty clear & correct..TS might want to approach the Customer Service Officer at the driving school at the point when you register for your bike learning.

Hope the above post did answer to your doubts.

Question answered. Therefore, thread closed.
