recently did a Padron 1926.

Presented to me by another cigar fren at ConD.

First taste was bitter and slightly burnt but developed nice after about 1cm or so into a much more coffeeish flavor. Body is medium at most.

fairly enjoyable cigar overall

Hello all,

Dropped off the radar for a while. Busy at work. Now i have a stupid cold so prob wont smoke until thats fixed because smell is a very important part of the cigar smoking experience i'm sure.

Am looking forward to trying a Dip No.2 when I am better, hopefully by Sat.

padron? i've never heard abt it b4...

Padrons are one of the most highly valued and sought after non-Cuban cigars out there, together with Arthur Fuentes, Opus Xs (owned by the Fuente family as well).

Their most famous range is the 1926s (which Throttle smoked) and the 1964s. I smoked a 1964 a couple of years back. It's very very smooth, but without the depth and power of a good Cuban (and at that point of time, Cubans were very infuriatingly inconsistent, even the good ones). I still have a 1926 in my humidor to smoke when one day I'm finally in the mood.

Good to try, if you ever manage to get your hands on one. But they are extremely rare and expensive, even when compared to Limited Edition Cubans.

yes, Padrons are quite ex.....

and they are individually numbered....

but I still have my wager on Cubans, heh

I sometimes wonder how they smoke those rare special size cigar. I know got one size is 18 inches long! I also found out some of the ring gauge are as big as 70 to 80. How long do i need to finish 18 inches? 4hours? Haha and how big do my mouth need to be to smoke the 80 ring gauge?(Nothing kinky here haha)

Bro throttle or anyone here ever try the culebras before? Find out from some website that partagas is coming out with the culebras again. Don't know how true....

yes have tried davidoff culebras and another non cuban brand., cant remember if i've done a partagas one before.

Hi Guys,

Just got 3 Trinidad Robusto Extra's as a gift. Are they good?

I find TriniRobustEx overrated. Have had more than quite a few but none really impressed. I think it's more a marketing ploy with this vitola then anything. maybe becos i didnt have the patience to keep them for more than a year?

However, i recommend the Reyes, the Coloniales and the fundadores.

My experience is they taste alright straight outta the box and better after a yr or 2. I'm still keeping my box of reyes and coloniales from jun 05 and sep 05.

Got 2 sticks of 1998 fundadores left.......

Thanks Throttle. Since I dont have a humi (yet!) will be lighting up the Trinis this weekend. What I am really looking fwd to though is a Dip No.2. The boys at Con D said they have a box or two of these aged about 3 years and I get the feeling they will be good...
