1. Let's say I take a bike over on COI. Main owner insurance is dying soon. Can I buy my own insurance or do I still need him to renew his?

 

2. If owner still need to renew his insurance, how to handle the situation if owner insurance is higher den urs?

 

3. Can main owner cancel his insurance w/o the sub rider knowing? Just in case lah..

usually after u take over the bike u need to buy ur own insurance and the previous owner will cancel his name from the insurance of the bike.. but first rider must be the youngest one..

That's a really bad decision. Do a proper transfer and save yourself all the complications ahead.

 

 

Main owner insurance is dying soon. Can I buy my own insurance or do I still need him to renew his?

 

NTUC will sell you insurance for any bike but you will be effectively covered only when you become the owner of that bike. So for a proper insurance, you would still need the owner to buy the proper insurance and put you as a sub-rider.

That's a private matter between you and the owner.

 

In your case, you can negotiate with the owner to pay the difference since his premium is higher.

Of course he can do that. He can even sell off the bike without your knowledge which brings me back to my first advice at the top of this post

if u never transfer ownership i doubt u can buy ur own insurance... how bout u enquire with insurance agent to put owner not riding and u only ride see the cost difference...
