Hi all,

 

I am new to this forum though i have been riding for 6 years. Was introduced to this site by my friend.

 

There is an offer to me by my friend for his 16 year old honda CBX 750, Ex-TP bike. He is willing to let go @$1,500.

 

Anyone had ridden this bike before? Can gimme some comments abt this bike?

 

Is this worth it?

 

I intend to buy this bike to go touring to thailand next month as currently on Vtec 1.

I think S$ 1,500 is a steal. If the bike is still mechanically sound....GO GET IT. If you do not want the bike, pls PM me your friend's contact......Ride on!

750 is a very comfortable size for Singapore roads.

On the other hand, the technology is dated (16yrs old).

A modern 600 naked bike may offer better equipment, handling and fuel economy.

The road tax would also be the maximum increased rate (can't remember off-hand what it is-think it is 150%) due to its age.

 

An ex-TP bike may also have v.high mileage, thus increased wear and tear as well.

However, Honda has a reputation for quality and durability.

 

Long Distance Touring (LDT) should be quite comfortable on the CBX as the ergonomics are quite natural and upright. If it still has the TP fairing, then you would be protected from the wind blast and rain.

 

As EddyMeng has so aptly put:
