the "reserve tank" you referred to is known as the "expansion tank". The water level in the expansion tank will fluctuate. When you are driving the car, as the water circulate in the system, the water will get heated up and expand so the purpose of the expansion tank is to prevent an overflow. After the car has cool down, the water level will drop to its normal level again. Thus never over filled the water.

Overtime, there will be a slight decreased in water volume in the process of heat exchange but it should not required any topping up as frequent as you mentioned.

Check your Engine Temp gauge as that will tell you the state of your engine cooling system.

If your radiator requires constant topping up, then there is a leak somewhere. Did you notice greenish liquid on the floor after you parked the car ? This will means that the leak is likely from the radiator, expansion tank or it's piping.

Did you notice if your exhaust smoke is whitish then its a sign that the leak could be at head gasket.

Bring it to your regular workshop, most will be able to diagnose the fault immediately. Meanwhile don't make any trips outside of Singapore

Hi Demon, the temperature is in the normal range (somewhere in the middle). but when i was driving while in the heavy rain yesterday.. the temperature will around 1/4, instead of the usual middle range...

the water in the expansion tank did not move much actually.. but was wondering why the water in the expansion tank did not flow into the radiator since the radiator is not fully filled...

i didnt notice any fluid or liquid on the floor.. but few days ago, i noticed 1 piping at the top of the radiator have very minor leaking of water when i tried to move the pipe.. just by moving left and right, i can see drops of coolant flowing out. after that i used a cable tie to secure it and no more water was seen coming out even when i try to push the piping to the left or right..

since then... i cannot find any other leaks already ....haiz..
