actually i don even know where the scratch came from. we had a small bump. he was at red light T-junction. right turnin lane i came from his left turnin right also. left side of his car hit my right leg. not much impact no fall. we stopped by the side of the road. he checked his car and pointed out a scratch at the left side of the bumper. i admit my fault and he wanted cash at first which i didnt have much at tat point of time. so he said he'll bring to workshop see what needs to be done cuz he don wan to be held responsible for any scratches when he returns taxi to company. so i said ok i'll bear the cost for the scratch to be removed and he agrees. says he'll call me up to inform me. end up i jus received a letter from ntuc hours ago. happened 2 months ago

F*** all those bast*** taxi drivers.....i had once kiss a taxi from the back, he claimed that there is damage to his rear bumper....kaozzz, in fact, there is no damage, no dent no scratch, he demanded a compensation of $60 for private settlement just because i knocked his taxi from the back.

intially, i hesitated, then come to think that the taxi company will over claim alot compare to that $60, i agreed to pay him to close the case, otherwise, i really cant imagine the claims from that taxi company (NTUC Comfort, which is well known for big big claims, claim for repair/driver loss of income, etc, etc).

for current practise in most general insurance company, even the assessment after reporting turn out that if the fault is the other party, we still have to bear 10% of the total claims, eventually renewal premium will be increased.

hence, the advice is to settle the case privately if the cost of repair is minor (few hundred dollars), unless the repair cost is far beyond our capability.

Someone who has been injured or had his property damaged by your vehicle may make a claim against your insurer. That is the law and whatever views you get here won't change it.

He who hesitates is lost!
