Sym GTS 300i/200 evo (joymax)

What was indicated on the temperature gauge when the fan kicked in? Was your ride a lot of start/stop? Did the fan stopped after awhile?

 

I forgot the temp guage is at 2 or 3 bar... Can say so, riding through traffics, a no. of start/stop. Yes after about roughly less than a min (abt a min) the fan stop. So anyone encounter this as well

I think its really up to the individuals. I feel that once you bought a new bike and problems start to occur within 3 mnths, its really the manufacturers default. I can only say you can count yourself unlucky abt that. For motorcycles, although SYM is not a very prestigous brand like DUCATI or BMW but it is still consider one of the establish brands in bikes.

 

Although SG is a pl flooded wif jap cars and bikes, but Taiwan's technology is as good. Taiwan's HTC is good as well, so much so for ACER. I've been using ACER and did not encounter much prob with it. I feel the same for their bike as well.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, SYM Joymax 300i evo has the best FC in CL 2A bike. Clockin abt 30-32km/l while running in. For this kind of FC to have such engine n speed is really nothing more to complain about. For my previous Daelim Roadwin x5, I clock a fc of 26-27.5km/l with a top speed of 110km/h. My Sym has no prob hittin 130km/h with ease and I'm confident of going 140-150km/h but still not tried yet.

Juz for my caveman knowledge, I do noe that Suzuki Burgman 400, majestic 400 and silverwing 400 fc is consider not bad for cl 2a bike but dun really hit 30km/l.

 

I think that the only real challenge for joymax 300i is whether kymco xcitin or downtown 300 can match with it.

 

As I say correct me if I'm wrong, this is how we bikers can share n gain exp from.

Hi everyone, i just bought a 2nd hand 2005year SYM GTS200(172cc) original Black in colour today. Used to ride a sports bike but change to a relax ride as i gonna get a car soon, after came back from the states, COE hit $72K(open market)! everything rise but pay never increase! Anyway, anybody can share about this bike eg; servicing, which petrol to pump( normally i pump V-power from shell) no joke but i think scooter pump shell 95/98 will do, the outlook meaning where got sell the stuff for this bike, what engine oil? dry battery which brand? any other modification? exhaust/muffler? anyone going taiwan can check out the price for the parts?(maybe i going this year or next year)

First of all congrats for joinin the SYM family. I juz went for first servicing today at future scootering and changed EO. Clock 800km and running strong.

For GTS 200 accessories, you can try Future Scootering I think. There are quite a no. of stuff for the bike as shown on their site.

stop-by someday to check out the shop. how much you did your servicing?

I bought 2 bottles of Motul EO for 54 bucks.. which breaks down to 27/bottle. It is recommended by future scootering and becoz our EO capacity is 1.2l thus the first time we need to get 2 bottles and subsequently 1 bottle for the next 5 servicing.

 

The mechs also says that every 6k we need to change spark plug as well and abt 18k to change ur belt.

1) Unused Dr pullery hit clutch set consist of clutch, bell assy n 6 sets of springs for $200.(retail at $550)

 

2) A stator unit spare consist of a rubber seal, spring n plastic cover for $30.(retail at $65)

One thing to add on is dat I saw the actual kymco xciting 300 and it is quite attractive at first look. But when u look at the interior, I mean meters n the compartments below the meter, it is not as nice as joymax 300i.

Haha dats true.. Nevertheless our blue meter is really appealing. Btw silvering is quite sleek n fierce looking as well..

nope... but last time GTS200 have.. i change many thing.. haha

but i change at future scootering.. very $$ but worth it..

advise you don't mod better.. stay original.. you won't regret

Bro not sure le, but my previous bike is Sym GTS200 if joymax spare is e same as gts then should b able to use. U can check out at ur bike shop i think e mechs should kn if they svc both bikes b4.

So far my ride is everything original, the battery status on the meter keep lighting up when ever i accelerate is it normal? and the oil change light up today, i just bought this bike for 4days, the shop said they done a servicing for me already. = ( my bike vibration quite loud, is it normal for a 5year old bike? anything can be done to have a smooth ride?

My engine oil indicator was activated last night and I thought I just went for a servicing which changes my engine oil 3 days back so I think it's fine.

My engine is getting hotter when I ride and after reading the Manuel it says dat the top left hand corner needs to be top up wif sae 10w-40 oil thus this morning I went to shell and buy a 4t oil n refill it..

But the indicator is still on and while I ride to work, the exhaust is damn hot and I'm wondering wad the hell is wrong.

 

Any advise, I'll be wrkin whole day over this weekend thus any immediate advise. I just change engine oil n the indicator light up. After I top 4t the prob still there..

sometimes you must not believe the indicator.. you have to trust yourself.. engine oil suppose to be 3k change 1 time depend on how good is the engine oil..

last time i ride GTS200 i was using Agip engine oil.. so i every 5k change 1 time.. sometimes in between the indicator come out i just reset it..

becoz the indicator not accruate one.. haha... many GTS rider had suffer this promble.. eg:Fuel indicator, when pump full but only 4 bar.. sometime 5 bar sometime drop to 4 bar.. up down up down.. haha
