Embrace>>> bro...total you have to pay $100 not inclusive the $200 that you borrowed from me the other day...remember?..:cheeky:...dun worry...out of the $100...$50 is refundable...this is for emergency cases like bike breakdown which cannot be fixed...need to tow back to SG....on the act of riderhood...$50 is to assist any riders' bike that need to be towed...

niti>>> maintain bike fork ?...difficult situation...fork is designed to absorb shocks...to maintain it...change the fork oil religiously...like once a year...so that...you can assess the spring coil inside the fork...and also the shaft and the bearings...look out for worn out seals and squirking sounds...these are indications for you to service your fork...

Hi…all Vara bros, Peace…

M.O. update

folks, its confirm. we can do a few variety product orders under one invoice and get discount too, if the quantity is justifiable. on the compatibility issue, am told that the center stand for ’04 version can fit later ( ’05 / ’06 ) vara model too.

How to maintain ur bike's fork ah?

Niti >> … just to add , while there can be a fair number of moving parts lurking inside a fork, they seem to have a very long life... except for the seals. after whatever front fork repair done up ,maybe should consider putting fork boot or shield . it’ll keep the dirt out of fork seals and flying rocks from dinging our fork tubes. if the fork tubes are dinged and rough, it’ll wear out any new fork seals we put in. and the cure for it?… a new fork tubes. so, if the forks look OK, and you ride a lot, it might be a good idea to’ invest’ on some form of protection.

btw, just some advice … if you’re around when the mechs removes the front wheel,…don’t take chances, find a wire , rope or the likes, and tie the brake caliper & speedo reader / sensor up, so they are not hanging from the brake hose / cable line. the cable line for the speedometer are delicate. the weight pulling it down may cause permanent ‘after effects’. a spare speedo cable set would cost …. * gulp* … $145.

hey guys wanna ask.. my vara125 fuel consumption about 21km/litre.. thought it was suppose to be like 25km/litre.. what could be the cause? could it be my gear usage? or speed? i usually travel on expressway at about 11rpm.. and i like the throttle a lot before changing gear.. anything to improve on my fuel consumption? thanks..

cheers..

nejiyuha>>> bro..not very sure leh...it could be that you are throttle a lot more before changing gear...there are few things that you might want to look at...your tyre pressure...your brakes whether they are rubbing on the disc even when you are not pressing...

toobez>>> Toobez my man!....nice to see you the other time...sprained ankle?...man....that means you cant go touring with us...you better heal fast...i pray for you...

Embrace >>> what happen bro?

Daniyal >>> Got it.

toobez >>> bro, better take care of your ankle. I'm having problems with my knee also. Suspected ligament tear or just inflamation. Been going for medical review. Hope won't be so serious. One advice - Keep fit and don't overstrain ur muscles. Stay within your physical limit.

nejihyuuga>>> i think it is more to do with how you ride the bike. If you keep ur RPM below 10, you'll easily hit 25-30km/l range. Mine is still doing that range with relax riding in singapore roads. Just stay within the speed limit. My last ride when i was doing like 110-120kph for continuous 2 hours, the consumption was very bad, 20 km/l. The other thing you might want to check is to keep your bike in stock condition. If you had done anything to the bike before, then that might affect the FC.

Aikon >>> Sire, when can see we see "Demonstration Arrow" ?

Kazama >>> If you want to put helment, need to get the 40L ones. Just need to top up a bit more. Hepco & Becker, it's a good investment. Worth the money.

In addition to above replies..your idling speed shud btwn 1500-1600 rpm when fully warm up. Note: Always adjust idling speed when bike is fully warm up

Wah..11000 rpm is like 110 kmph . at this avg speed definitely will consume more fuel than one whose avg speed is 6000-80000 rpm (like me ..) Also frequent blipping of your throttle as you change gear, wait at traffic lights, while slowing down can add to FC although not as much as your high avg speed

Niti..Nothing much to maintain on forks except to keep it 'wet' I used WD40 now and then but changing fork seal and oil would be more work n better left to mechanics with proper tool. .As mentioned above booties or fork protector help prevent stones hitting the tube and pit the shining part. U can also try putting stocking or socks like material to cover same area.

bruders.. thanks for the info.. haha but i'm a really new rider and don't know much about checking out my bike yet.. want to learn more from you guys..

acit22 >>>> first hand should be around 12-13k, second hand around 6-8k.. pick up is alright with proper gear usage.. top speed is about 120km/h.. so far haven't hit beyond that but singapore road just travel 80-90km/h can la.. fuel consumption is good!! 25-30km/litre.. ideal to go JB pump save lots of money!

stargate>>> dun tell me you sprayed WD40 on the inner fork...thats bad...WD40 is somewhat like a degreaser...it is not lubricant...WD40 material tends to harden up once dried up...WD40 good for loosening nuts, removing rusts but not for lubrication purpose....juz sharing info...

embrace>>> bro...whatever it is...you got to keep going...never give up...NEVER...as a friend i am more than willing to help to certain extent...the rest is up to you...dun worry bro...i understand...DUN GIVE UP !!...ok? :cheer:
