Hi guys. for the past 1 week i was overseas and i parked and covered my bike at the car park near my block. i park at the lot almost everyday and so far no problem until yesterday night when i received a call from my dad stating that my bike fell down and hit my neighbour's car door causing a dent. he also took pictures of my bike on his car door which he showed my dad.

When i came back to singapore this morning i check my bike and saw that it was indeed fell down and also there are damages to my bike too because of the fall. but i am unsure whether someone hit and run my bike or did someone sabo my bike and make it fall. i gave a call to my neighbour and i explained to him that it is unfair for me to pay him for damages when i did not do anything.

he also agreed to it and told me that he would bring it to the workshop tomorrow to get his car checked and if the repair charges is $200 or below, he would pay himself but if it is more than $200 he would claim from his insurance.

but can he go against his words and claim from my insurance? and would insurance company allow him to claim from my insurance even if i can prove that i was overseas when this thing happened? (I have my passport for proof that i was overseas)

PS: i am the only rider for this bike and all the original and duplicate keys for the bike are with me and i locked it in my drawer before going overseas.

Thank you.

Report this incident to your insurance company even if it's not your fault. If you suspect it is a hit and run, make a police report and provide this to your insurance company.

If you don't trust your neighbour, draft out a letter stating that if the repair bill for his car is below $200, you will not fork out any money.

nothing is more soild than black n white. heard lots of cases where the driver turn against his words n claim insurance instead.

regarding if the claim can be successful, it depends on how the insurance fight against themself.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
