hello... i'm new in this forum... am riding a S4 SpecIII...

any recommendation on touching up paint work and a dented exhaust??... my S4 is being knock down when parked stationary.... got scratches on right side of oil tank, pillion side & exhaust....

Today on the24july2006 i go and enquire the price of s4 spec3 at bike production at serangoon there. the saleman quote me 11600 on the road plus my insurance about 600. Total only 12200 leh, but i know at the market now almost all motordiam quote me 13000 plus, so can buy a not? thier parts original a not ah?

 

vtec 1 came when travel how many kmph

vtec2 leh?

vtec3 leh?

is there any indicator show that ur vtec kicks in liao ah?

of cos can.... bike pro is known for their low prices... i just get from them s4spec3 for 12.5 otr... my insurance is 1k

Hi guys, new spec 3 rider here. Juz gt my bike last fri.

 

Wanted to ask wad is the recommendation of running in speed?

 

Currently i'm running in in 70-80km/h, izzit enuf or ov limit?

 

If fuel reaches reserve the indication will lite up rite? Or wait till the fuel gauge reaches the last bar den consider reserve liao?

 

How to gauge whet need to pump tyre or hw long roughly to pump once?

 

Any idea roughly wad the distance for fully run in? 5000km?

Generally, for soft run-in, the sequence is as such:

0-800km --- Mineral Oil

800-2000km --- Mineral Oil

2000- 3000km --- Mineral Oil

3000km onwards --- Fully/Semi Syn, up to individual

* Don't rev above 6000 RPM = Speed of at most 80-90km/h

 

Oh yar, your first oil change, remember to change the oil filter... after that its every alternate oil change.

In case you wanna know too, the stock spark plugs should last about 10,000km.

Run in procedure is: go 80-90kmph and u cant go wrong .

0-800km ------ change engine oil (EO) lousy one can liao cos u had to change 3 times , this is what loois mechanic tell me one, they r quite famous for aftersales service pls believe me. ALSO change oil filter about 20 dollar.

 

800-2000km--------change EO( lousy one) cheap one can liao no need change oil filter.

 

2000-3000km------ Last time change EO(so this time change good EO) plus oil filter again..

 

 

then every second time change EO , u also must change oil filter..

Then when to change air filter (how many km then change ) air filter roughly how much for any brand??

6 months change/wash 1 time.

 

Stock Filter ? i don't know.

K&N Filter $80

i'm thinking of changing my exhaust... read frm other post and they mention "micron" and "yoshi".... which one is better???

 

in terms of performance, what type of exhaust shld i go for?? Any idea where can get it done (reliable + cheap)....

Actually, for yoshi and micro. alot of people put it for cosmetic purpose only. There is actually not much impact for spec 1, 2 , 3 etc as we have the vtec. Changing the exhuast pipe maybe can just quickly allow more exhuast to escape from the chamber. This maybe abit impact only.

Y no 1 mention GPR? I think GPR r d cheapest among Yoshi n Mircon, interm of performance, GPR on S4 on Pick up is gd,but on top end, sian...... :smile:

Ya you see only for the Brand. Cannot just look for brand must be product also. I will got for GPR if i need to change. As its good yet not expensive.

what is end-can that i often see at the thread?

Is it exhaust pipe?

 

what is micron and yoshiurma? is it the different type of brand for exhaust pipe also?

 

after install micron or yoiushiuurma will it travel faster or only the sound better to hear only? we install for the sound only rite?

 

lastly howmuch both of them cost and where to get it?

odometer not working, but rpm no prob as normal. how n where to rectify?

For HID bulb- best is to get those with 3750k and higher colour one as they are brighter. Also becareful of the voltage and current use- misuse will damage your headlight

When does Vtec opens?

Vtec opens varies for different spec.

VTEC 1 = 6700 RPM

VTEC 2 = 6350 RPM

VTEC 3 = 6350 RPM for first 4 gear and 6750 RPM for the last gear.

 

12) Coolant ?

10000km or check bi-yearly(2 years once).

Only 1.6 litres and then the rest just top up your reserve for spec 2 and spec 3

In January 2002, HYPER VTEC evolved into Spec II aiming at letting everybody actually feel the power drive over the entire ranges. As one of the aims of Spec II development, it can be pointed out that the CB400 SUPER FOUR, the model on which the system was installed, is the one having a wide user class. There were voices to point out that beginners, in particular, were unable to fully utilize the four-valve stage from above the revolution range of 6,700. The development team then developed HYPER VTEC SPEC II anew to enable many more users to enjoy the four-valve stage of HYPER VTEC.

SPEC II achieved increasing torque in the middle speed range and smoother power by refining the valve timing, inteke and exhaust systems, and the valve switchover timing revolution from two to four valves was changed from 6,750rpm to 6,300rpm. It has resulted in powerful and sporty engines, enabling one to actually feel VTEC in all driving ranges from low to top. In December 2003, SPEC III was introduced. The switchover timing for a 6 speed only was changed from 6,300rpm to 6,750rpm to improve fuel consumption in cruising over high speed roads without spoiling the cheerful drive.
