[Solved] Windows 7 Uploading Woes

As a frequent youtube uploader and content contributor to some overseas websites, I ended up with major issues when I "upgraded" to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

 

Uploading no longer works. After 1mb or so the upload connection simply "disappears" and no amount of experimenting with security and network settings solved the issue.

 

There is however, a workaround if you're suffering from this annoyance.

 

Upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, install the Windows XP Mode virtual machine and upload from XP mode. Magically, there will be no issues with the upload being dropped.

 

It took me about a week to stumble upon this simple workaround as there are a lot of useless "remedies" floating around the Internet. No more riding to the office on Sundays to upload content now.

The fun thing to note here is whatever version of Windows 7 you have, the version is controlled by a product key and an "upgrade" to the next level is simply unlocked by software means.

 

That means if you're cunning, you can get a barebones Win7 system and turn it into an Ultimate one in a matter of ten minutes (excluding updating time) :3
