riding without road tax disc...

First off, I'm still new to the roads and the things involved in owning a vehicle...

I've just bought my bike, I believe everything should be in order. I got my insurance paper, transfer paper etc all under my bike seat. but what I don't have is road tax disc...thought I got the paper showing I did actually have road tax...

 

is road tax disc necessary in anyway? Do I have to go back all the way to my bikeshop to get my road tax or it will be mailed to me by LTA?
