press your rear brake juz b4 finishing the plank. it might help to extend the timing a little bit. but not too much...

For plank tink everyone has given lotsa gd suggestions....and also tink there's a topic on tis in the forum somewhere can go read up too....but most important is practise a lot....best is got one RC you just ask the instructor to watch you on plank only and give you tips on how to improve.

fleaz is right...if you feel gonna fall juz throttle up and go faster and clear the plank...don't bother about the timing...just points...if fall off, immediate failure.

ah min, i last time lesson 3 cannot make it. the instructor see me fall off fall off fall off also sianz wif me...cannot stay on plank at all. in the end he pillon me and did the plank and pylon. So zhai! and fast somemore. *respect* man  but after he show me i kinda understood the concept of how to clear both courses den improve liaoz lor. later on i found out he's one of the quite zhai ones on plank....in the instructors' comp he can stay more den one minute on the plank lorz with super4 :cheer: :lovestruck:

well, see before with my own eyes.

they move a few inches, brake and balance the bike. abt to lost control, turn the throttle to move a few inches and repeat the steps till finish. didnt really count how long they took to complete the plank, but seem that they took very long time to complete it. :giddy:

haha our revision dun coincide...i'm gg today for RC 655pm and RR on sunday 835am. thought can find kaki. Nevertheless all the best too! This wk revise till :giddy: Coz 3x tis wk feel a bit tiring. But feel dat skills quite sharpened liaoz.

Also have some road experience but I guess I am more cautious. Last time during test, the right turn at the hospital traffic super busy. I delayed moving off from junction coz so many cars going by dun dare to turn. I saw the TP tester out of corner of left eye standing there looking looking and I couldn't turn! Literally  So terrible....one point thought could turn and started moving off but some cars shoot out from nowhere, so had to stop. Felt like  after dat.

Anybody experienced tis and wanna give advice? Hope to tell you guys gd news too soon :cheeky:

that's a killer junction. tend to have too many cars there. some advice:

watch out for cars coming out of the hospital. beware of yellow box. upon reaching stopline, do remember to inch out. do your checks, if road is cleared then move out. usually once traffic turns red, you should be able to turn out.

Yup, fleaz, like jhawk2820 said, sometimes you will see some of the instructors trying to practise balancing on plank on their own when not teaching students.

They will slowly open throttle and go up; once on plank, stop bike and balance without moving, when going to fall, open throttle and balance, then stop....den continue all over again. Not easy to balance the whole machine at rest! Also easy to fall off plank if sense of balance not good. Sometimes when they practise, will also go off halfway.

But the instructor i mentioned, not only did he not go off the plank...he stayed on doing that till the end of the plank for almost 1min 30seconds. :thumb: I think for them surpass 1 min is a standard lor....but some of the instructors also cannot stay on so long too.

Hehe....but when compared to my own standard, when I see anyone who can stay on for more den 15-20 seconds *respect man*

Hey thanks...very good advice! =)

But really, there are so many things to do there and watch out for, can go blur :giddy:

And the hospital junction is quite irritating....sometimes both sides of the road clear but got car coming out of the hospital.

Wait for car to clear, cars coming from both sides of the road again.

Hospital clear, red light for oncoming traffic, opposite side of the road got cars.

Wait until I :faint: Not to mention the right turning vehicles from the major road turning in.

I guess I must really react fast and quickly open throttle and go, if wait too much and afraid of not being able to turn out fast enough then hard to turn. Will try my best this time. =)

i tink tp test is not just about skill but luck as well...during my test, just b4 the hospital junction, there's a bus waiting for pple there...whole road kana blocked...

some more the tester was sitting less den 20m away...can see everything...

since it was a single white line, i signalled right, checked blindspot and moved on...

did everything according to the book but still kana 8 or 12 points(forget the exact number of points)

but luckily, still passed in the end~! so i din bother to ask y i kana so much points there...

so :goodluck: to those who are going to take the test soon~!

Wat's freedom all about? Do i have it or am i dreaming?

:cheer: don't give up. you're already half way through. if you give up now, it will be a big waste.

3 tries is no biggie. Give it another shot, you might just pass. Always remember to check your blindspot. Blindspots are killers. Make sure you turn on the correct signal. And have you been going for RCs? If not, do go for it. You can improve your courses when you practice more. Ride safe and steady and I'm sure you would pass. You have improved considerably at your 3rd attempt and that is good news.

Perhaps you could let me know what are the problems that you're currently facing so that i could dish out better advice.

Very true. I seen learners going for 5-8 tries just to clear 1 lesson. Don't be disheartened. Failing doesn't make you bad rider. Passing doesn't make you a better rider. Bear that in mind.

And have you been going for RCs? If not, do go for it. You can improve your courses when you practice more.

Again, very true. So much have been said in this forum (whatever the topic is), is that practice makes perfect. Makes you kinda sick reading the same thing over and over again, but you just can't ignore it! The only way to master is to practice. Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice!!!!!!

Yoz angel22, yupz don't give up! I guess it's very frustrating to keep on failing and not move on. I felt the same way at Lesson 5. What you can do is to be very objective and try to see your own performance from another person's point of view. Go analyse your test sheet and see where it is you get points for immediate failure and other areas.

During RC, approach the instructor specially and ask him to help you lor. As in really help you....as in you see nobody needs his help ask him to follow you around and listen to what he says. Show him your assessment sheet and tell him which areas you think you are not good at - ask him to help you in these areas. If you meet a conscientious instructor even better.

Crank course no good? Practise and practise lor. I also last time crank course very bad at Lesson 5...cannot kick up gear properly...always kick to neutral...not enough power - engine rattling.....wide turn...finish crank course never check blind spot.....terrible sia. After I failed my Lesson 5, my first RC after that I bugged my RC instructor...his name is Eng, quite a helpful guy....and really tried to help me out wif figure 8, crank course....whole RC just do that. Later RCs just practise lor. Standard improved a lot...and I passed my next lesson 5.

Not boasting that my courses are very good...I still think my figure 8 crank course cannot make it...haha dunno why cannot go back to that time Lesson 5 standard...but it definitely is not as bad as previously lor. Try again, don't give up. What the others say is right....you must practise, but practising correctly is very important. That's why need instructor to see if you are doing correctly. After all they are the ones who grade you. Practising on your own is good, but if keep repeating old mistakes without correcting them will just cause you to form bad habits, which is not what you want at all.

Jiayou!

YOU CAN BE REALISTIC...YOU CAN BE TOLERANT...AND YOU CAN BE FLEXIBLE.

Thanks alot guys!

Just abit disappointed... i mean every course was ok but i fell down at crank course. I admit i was abit nervous about trying to do better because got 6 eyes watching u ... when so many pple watching u sure get nervous...Thurs I still went for RC but my crank course had no problem leh...

Actually my weakest area is figure 8 lah... i always take 11+ secs then get points from there. I even mounted kerb at figure 8 during the warm up... Then its crank course. I kick up to 2nd gear and the bike starts wobbing when i go to figure 8 and i am scared it will stall :giddy:

Narrow plank and e brake no prob.. pylon slalom always just make it in time(abit "dangerous" lah since its always 5 + secs..)

Very true. I seen learners going for 5-8 tries just to clear 1 lesson. Don't be disheartened. Failing doesn't make you bad rider. Passing doesn't make you a better rider. Bear that in mind.

Don't give up! It can be done! :goodluck:

Thanks!

During RC I was ok because no one is watching me...

i know its a lousy excuse but when i was taking my class 3 test i was also like that.. the tester keep staring at me and the more i try the worse the results came up... end up rolling back at slope and doing stupid things like never apply brake when vehicle is stationary and signal too early.

can i just confirm that when u enter the crank course at the yellow line, u kick up to 2nd gear then just open throttle abit right? thanks for the help again!
