Hi everyone, just something to share with you guys . Recently I experince some problem with my engine . Engine keep dieing off while idile. But while travelling no problem only when i stop at the junction engine will die off. So send to work shops for check up. Change alot of things , wash carbrator , change the rubber hose for the ait intake , tune engine, valve etc. End up still same problem . Then told me to change engine valve which will cost me $4++. I super dont belive ask another workshop dont a check change the carbrator fuel hose. Only less than $100. Bottom line is always seek second opition or third in my case just to be sure . Dont be fooled. Hope those who have this same problem as mine can be solve asap.

Hi, I have encountered this problem personally. Same as you, the engine only died out when I stopped moving; junctions for example. Turned out mine was just the engine idling, just needed a bit of fine tuning from my mechanic and the problem went away.

No charge for that tho, at Wonderful Motors.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

DC

Hi All. I just noticed my coolant temperature guage fluctuating widely on my last few rides - the needle swings back and forth from the halfway mark to zero. This happens a few times during the ride. Not sure what could be the cause of the problem and its severity. can someone pls advise. thanks in advance.

Hi... Any of you did any modifications? Please share with me... I was thinking of getting the K&N Open Pod Air Filter and Dr pulley Sliders for now... And maybe later, I want to install the Multivar2000 and the Delta Clutch and also the Malossi belt... Does it do any major difference? How about FC? And also, which shop is recommended? Thanks...

just serviced my clutch,EO,OF,Plug, belt, roller,u clip, coolant at Wonderful Motor(botak) all original parts, very very smooth..and he warned me of any unneccesary modification could alter fuel consumption drastically..so i think i'll just keep to the experts :-)

by the way, does anyone know how much does a new front shield cost? mine's sorta had really bad cracks from the ex owner..thanks!

Thanks... Did you changed your jetting? I heard if you change pipe, you have to change your jetting... Is that true?

When i fitted the pipe for the 1st time,i went to botak for carburrator setting but when the jetting was taken out, it was found already been changed to a much bigger size jet by the previous owner. The ex owner used to fit a big bore malossi 258cc racing block on the bike and the oversized jet was to accomodate the change, so botak just need to set the air fuel ratio without changing the jet.

Anyway i'm using a standard block now and the only modifications on the bike are just the LV 4 Road and bigger jet.No Malossi/Pollini torque driver/spring,no racing multivar,no speed clutch,no open pod,no Dr Pulley,no lightened roller or racing belt.None at all, just standard Piaggio genuine parts coz they last longer.Fuel consumption is 22km/litre (@80km/h) and top speed is 120km/h

The X8 200 is a well balanced cruiser and since day 1 it had not failed me yet.I am the 2nd owner and i'm planning to keep riding the bike for a while.

I'm also planning to fit an RPM and Volt gauge,RevTec,and maybe also some speakers for long trips.Planning on the Trengganu trip(1117.9km-round trip) on the 140610 with 2 of my buddies,a Vespa PX150 and an RXZ 135(their 5th time)

All that i've mentioned above are in the best of my knowledge and pls do make any comments on any mistakes at all.

And to all Piaggio X8 riders..ride safe okay..

bros,...

any of you would happen to know whether our x8 200 engines are fuel injections types or not?

Have a bottle of stp fuel injection cleaner from my bros car...wonder if it will do any wonders. My clutch slip's pretty bad too...does the engine mounting affect this?

The X8 200 came only with carburettor,i dunno bout the 400..

I used to have the same problem with the clutch slip thingy dude, the bike shuddered like hell when moving off.So i figured to get it fix at some shop, wah lau eh.. the bike shop asked me to change the whole clutch which cost bout 200+.I refused to fork out that kinda dough,so i went to Wonderful Motor and botak serviced the whole clutch, cleaned it,brushed the dirt and rust off it and finally greased all the bearings. As far as i'm concerned, thats a 1st time i'll see anyone doing that..very very tedious work bro..

Now,my bike is running almost perfect(except for the balding tyres)

No more vibrations while moving off even at slow speed.

And you can actually check yourself on the engine mounting condition..very simple..mainstand the bike then try lifting your exhaust pipe upwards slowly..

if you cant shake the exhaust upwards or downwards, then you dont need to change the engine mounting. But if can ah,too bad ah..time to change already

Thats all for now bros,i hope this helps..

Take care and ride safe..
