Since we are on the topic of short trips, anyone of you ever heard of a place in Johore called Endau Rompin National Park?

 

I was flipping thru some back-issues of MotorCultureAsia mag during lunchtime. The journey pics looks great; both tarmac & rough sand trail cutting thru plantations...

 

Anyone knows where the place? If yes, any experience or knows someone?

I am tempted by the freshwater river they featured where the tour group 'swim' who went there.... Very 'Adventure!'...

tnx mate. That sure might help!!! Btw, wen to see what the probs but bike able to start and working fine!!! they even tested it to changi to and back to the workshop!!! since its fine, i went there to collect her! She starts fine and healthy fuel pump into carbs...i make payment $30 for labour, then put my helmet on..wave the machanic goodbye and geared one, then she stall again!! sigh!!! will sure ask the mech to check the fuel pump relay!!! ..meantime, u all guess... what ride they lend to me... even thou i didn't complain i took $7 taxi yestday to the workshop+$12 to work+$7 to workshop to day. still kind of them to go the extra mile plus 1/2 tank patrol free sumore... lucky me!!!!

 

Hint: just call the mechanic and he did found out the fuel-replay socket was loose due to wear and tear...lets hope and pray thats the only damage!!!!

 

 

I checked with my mech on this prob today. It should just be the relay that's busted although i suggest a change of fuel pump. faulty fuel pumps can work one moment and fail in another.

 

an alternative way to get round a screwed fuel pump in the middle of nowhere is to get the relay out of the original circuit and connect direct. if not mistaken, it's behind the left fairing

 

i think the relay is just to channel the electrical supply when fuel is needed. correct me if im wrong...i tend to forget the probs my vara had when it was younger..

yancurly8>>> EERRMMM..ENDAU ROMPIN..i been there but didn't manage to get in! from the entrance u need to by pass off road till u reached the 54th km mark then u will be greeted by a big board "WELCOME TO ENDAU ROMPIN" here are some of the latest crazy foolish trip i went last year.....and thats only 5km from the entrance...

 

The route taken was...2nd link-> Air hitam->Kluang->Kahang-> slip off to endau rompin taman negara (and we got lost in there trying to back track witout any route so we become bush wacker)->mersing for R&R, then down trunk rd->kota tinggi-> Jb-> wooodland!!

Other than the people i noe... AJ, (TDM/xr650r) know the route best to and fro...in and out, 60%-40% as he oso long time nber go in!!!!! otherwise, got some info on slackriders which i might be able to trace...

The last patrol kiosk before u enter or else, u need to go all the way out!!! to pump gas and get every supply u need, water bread, condom (if u need one) if u intend to stay overnight! or planing to get lost!!! GPS is highly adviseble...Oh..in endau..phone reception is bad!!

**** best is, to stay overnight at mersing!! reach morning, get a chalet (those bring partner can stay at chalet and swims at the nice sandy clean beach), unpack and only bring necessary stuff for the trail as there are many manly pothole on sandy route. then evening about 6-7pm, get back to chalet!!! book bbq at night 1px at $15-25rm!!! chalet range from $70rm sml room - $250rm big room!!!! normally we share room 4 to one! 1 night enough as no activity there besides beach...fishing...beach...fishing...*** one of my favourite ride getaway...at least once a year.****

To all>>>sory guys...been busy with work lately... yup.. my ride is back on the rd since today. and yes..the relay got dicconnect! tnx for the idea fuji and kenny for the info. initially, the mec did the first job and he test ride it till changi witf no probs at all...! so he called me to collect it! next day, he switch it on and she was fine! i made payment, and went back, put on my helmet, 1st gear and she went down again!! sigh!! the mec oso got confused and blur!! so they lend me....eeerr... ahpek bike!!! its cool thou...so long neber ride this type of ride!!! k, get back to topic...the relay is at the rear of the meter section actually! direct won't help as the electic flow is too straight!!! however, my previous fuel pump has got to go too! the good news is the new on still good and can be used! all cost me $30 + $50 tow! sigh!!!

Guys...basically Endau Rompin is for the adventures type. sure got many Obstacles and steering manouvere is very important!

 

and mersing if just for a short getaway. like what i did for a 3 days trip is malacca, mersing and a MUST stop at KOTA TINGGI for a rewarding water message/therapy! u be tyred but sure the water really freshen u up!

I brought my bike to M-tekhnik last wednesday and the root cause of the sound is the cam chain rail and cam chain guard.... no stock so had to airfreight rom japan and will take bout 1 week to arrive. I also change the tensioner set. Clutch sytem and spocket/chain set is in good condition so mechanic advice not to change but gonna install scotoiler system. it's gonna be public transport for me for the next week or so.....
