The outer end of that looks a bit small Bro, even with MX boots its likely to give you a very painful inner calf where boots are not strong. Better to make a bit bigger, not rounded except at the corners or weld a flat piece on the edge to spread the load.

Can't do, I can help when I have finnished KC's locks, (working on phase two now KC)

freerangestormer>>The design is copy from Ian. Ian has the touratech big brake foot rest on it, and this small pics of metal will cost u $50. So i thot why not DIY for it. Have thot of making it bigger but if u make it bigger, end of the day, u could easily step the brake unnecessary (this brake rest is not for us to rest our foot). Anyway i have try the MX boots on the bike during the fraser hill, the stock one is too small & short. I have to push my boots to the edges in order to brake it hard. I hope this will solve the problem, it could easily tap the brake. If u interesred, pls let me know as i still have the materials or u can design the shape & pass it to me. i cut for u.

Adventurers>> was surfing the net for info on the endau trip.... please read the coloured santence... need to clarify this matter... and where to apply the permit.....anyone have info...?

The Orang Asli (the indigenous people) here are from the Jakun tribes, the natives of the jungle which is now settled down at Kampung Peta. They are good trackers, and have lived long enough in the wilds to recognize the smell, sound tracks and signs on the earth surface and its surrounding. Their skills enable them to trace food, daily necessities, stay out of danger and even to the immediate surroundings for green medicine to combat ailments and poisonous snake bites.

It is best to contact your travel agent for guided tours of Endau-Rompin, as the area is largely underdeveloped and infrastructure is minimal. Entry permits are a must and visitors will have to provide two passport sized photographs and a photocopy of their identity card or passport. Endau-Rompin is accessible by road from KL and Singapore but it is advisable to use 4WD. It takes 5 hours from KL. Your travel agent will be able to provide further details as to the itinerary of your tour. The tour will typically include all meals, accommodation, and transport to and from Endau-Rompin, as well as transport within the park.

There are two entry points to the park, Kampung Peta and Nitar. The former is located 56km from Pahang The visitor would have to traverse through rubber and oil palm plantations, as well as dense jungle along dirt tracks to the base camp. From Nitar, a Felda Plantation scheme, the park can be reached after an 8 hour boat ride along the Endau River. Kampung Peta is the most remote Orang Asli settlement in Johor.

another website...

To protect the pristine environment, only limited areas of the park are open for ecotourism. Entry to the park requires a special permit from the Johor National Park Corporation. But the much easier option is to get the permits at the District Office, which is just next to the Police Department in Kuala Rompin before reaching the FELDA Selendang turnoff from Lanjut Beach. Upon entry to this park, trekkers will be guided by forest rangers to ensure safety at all times.

Key Tips

The park is closed during the rainy season (November to March). Please read the park regulations before you enter the park.

Hi Guys, I'm discharged & back home already. 43 days of torture in s'pore hospital. First I like to THANK Philip for his great help, extra day leave because of me, looking for my bike at accident scene and brought it back to Sungei buloh hosp so that it wouldn't be stolen and riding the heavy bike up the tow truck - all the time spent and fatigue causing him to sleep on the empty bed next to me in the same ward til the next morning. A big dinner treat from me will definitely not be enough. THANK YOU PHILIP!!

Thanks to K.C, David and the rest for looking and bargaining with tow truck company to get my bike back to customs.

Thanks also to all the guys who brought my bike back from JB and sending it for wash like brand new siah!!!!

Thanks to all vara guys for your concern, visits to hosp, magazines and etc and everything u guys have done for me! Thanks Guys!!

I'm now resting at home, walking with crutches and exercising my "titanium inside" leg everyday. Cause of this unfortunate accident has resulted in 3 titanium implants in my leg - thigh, calf and ankle..+ skin graft from my smooth and nice left thigh to cover up this big "tiger bite" (result of abrasion+heat) on my right leg joint in between lower thigh and calf.

For those who have seen my "mildly injured" bike, I am looking for the spare parts (dun mind 2nd hand that are in gd condition). Anybody brudders who have "kang-tau" or selling their 2nd hand parts (local/overseas purchases ok to me) please do pm me.

I'm looking for MRA windshield only (that suits my height), right footrest (original preferred), right dashboard next to meter.

Since I'm home, u guys can visit me if/when free, probably in a group and we can talk **** sing song in the comfort of my home...hahaha...

Its not how much have u done it, its have u did it?http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p290/Tonyzx11/P1000395.jpg

Endau Trip Boys> Hey Guys...jus some of the pointers and for us to share...do add in if u guys have any!!! Here are some of it...

Riding on sand, whether on massive desert dunes or in a dried-out river wash, is a blast. It can also be a very technical experience, depending on the difficulty of the selected terrain.

When riding in sand, always remember to:

1. Maintain a relaxed posture with your feet on the pegs and your head and eyes up, looking ahead.

2. Your bike will track, or waver, in the sand - this is natural - so be sure to keep the throttle on and shift to a higher gear if possible to allow your motorcycle to rise on top of (or "plane") the sand.

3. Rolling off the throttle effectively creates a braking force, and the bike will start to "plow" back into the sand as speed decreases. Be especially careful to keep your front wheel straight as you slow down, as it's very easy to tuck your front end and possibly crash as you decelerate in sand.

4. One of the best rules to remember when riding in sand: accelerate sooner and brake later than you would on surfaces with greater traction.

5. Also, when riding in areas with large dunes, be careful of hills or dropoffs that may be camouflaged by the lack of shadows and distorted sense of perspective caused by the desert sun.

:dot: Well on tat note lets also Bring our Enthusiasm and Joy for this Ride....Leaving behind our EGO...a point to start proper Riding & another reason Y we Own VARA....ADVENTURE:thumb::cheers:

Riding on MUD....

Where, and in what sort of climate, you live will determine the amount of water and mud you'll get at any given time. Regardless, water and mud can hide obstacles (roots, ruts, rocks, etc.) on the trail, so it's always best to ride more cautiously during wet periods.

While riding in mud, you'll often encounter ruts, so do the following:1. Maintain momentum through muddy sections. Remain relaxed, and allow your bike's wheels to follow (or track) on the ruts.

2. Keep your weight centered and stand on the footpegs.

3. Maintain an even, steady throttle setting. If you lose speed and the bike begins to bog down, do not get back on the throttle abruptly. This will only cause your rear wheel to dig itself deeper in the mud, and you'll most likely be forced to dig yourself out.

4. Instead, open the throttle gradually and smoothly to maintain your forward momentum.

Evasive Action

Rocks, roots and/or stumps protruding from the ground are one of the most common obstacles you'll encounter while riding off-road, and it's always best to do your most to avoid them, lest you catch your boot or deflect your front wheel.

Here are a couple pointers on dodging the debris:

1. Always maintain your concentration on the trail ahead of you, scanning for obstacles in your path.

2. On narrow trails, if you are sitting down, keep the balls of your feet on the footpegs so the toes of your boots don't hang below the level your motorcycle's frame or skid plate. If you are standing up, stand on the pegs on the arch of your feet with your toes pointed up.
