Bro,

Wat did he do to ur old crash bars? wrapped wif aluminium foil isit? ur 'fatgerl' nw wif kruzers huh?..

Anyways, toking abt seeing 'fatgerls' on the road; today was the most i've seen in a day on the road.. total abt 3 'fatgerls'; the red one, the blue one and the black one.. none of them familiar to VARA.. seems like there are others out there whom exists amongst us.. Wherever they are, may the varadero spark lead them to great destinations! :thumb:

I wanted to change to BRAKING disc if the price is good.. or maybe jst stick to OEM ones... Went to HKL to ask if stock available. Ah Mun called FJT say OEM one currently no stock. He oso called Motovation who is BRAKING dealer. Dey oredi ordered new stock but no yet arrive. Maybe in a month's time. My guess is that dey do bizness like 'where we mass ordered our windshields at Bike Asia2008'; stockpile orders and send one go!

I plan to go to M-teknik with Ian sometime after NDP. Opting strongly for BRAKING.. he oso have some projects there so dun mind the company..

David, alamak y so coincidence lar? I was oso watching the vidz yesterday nite.. khe khe.. good memories...

For starters; the venue for the location can either be held at Philip's new palce or urs(my first choice).. Lets call a vote amongst the brudders on this.. best if can decide there and then at our next meetup!

Maybe we can have it a week afetr the NDP weekend? Some brudders might be going up riding during the period and miss this great opportunity for bonding.. if its the go-ahead on that weekend, maybe this time ard we can add an extra itinery; ie: 'VARA goes bowling?'...

I'm ups for either Fuji or Zac as organisers.. :thumb:

Hi guys,

ATwin >>>>> Hi bro, i will be more than willing to work out a plan for the bbq....maybe its time i gave back to the VARA brudders for the endless fun i have had and will continue to have in the future. Lets have a meet up this friday to discuss the possible locations we can have this bbq. I will talk to phillip for using his bbq pits, maybe can come earlier and have a swim also.

Yancurly >>>>> Due to the facto that our bikes are equipped with CBS, you will not feel the full effects of the Braking disc...They retail at $200 without installation, Also, they will require more pricey pads as they are of a very hard metal compound. Use normal pads and your pads will wear out real fast.

As for the original discs for our bikes, I got mine replaced at HKL for $170 inclusive of new pads and installation bro. But thats my price when i was doing the bike up. Without all the add ons, the disc will cost $170 on its own. This is the price of oem and on top of that, you can use normal pads and they will wear fine. If your bike is for touring only,,,,then i guess it will be wise to change to the BRAKING DISCS AND KEVLAR.

But if your bike is for commuting purposes like from what i understand, then OEM discs and Normal Goldfren pads will be more than sufficient. You will also be shocked to find out that, fFor the VARA, the BRAKING discs, DO NOT come in a petal design....It will still be round, just like the oem....So i say you think whats best k? Just my 20 cents.

There is no pain greater than not being able to ride a motorcycle....

There is no joy more worth mention when riding one,,,,,,,

Zac, thanx bro for the insight and ur kind words.. Aprreciate it alot..

HKL checked out for me; out of stock.

Suddenly oso gt itch to use aftermarket ones.. ie: BRAKING, Galfer etc.. but i shall consider all options through & through.. No worries..

I had checked with Motovation. Apparently the new petal type or known as 'Bat-fly' not suitable for our fatgerls.. the type suits us is the STX model... ours is the simpler type.. Motovation ordered some stocks.. arrival TBD !!!

Cost is $450.. current offer by them oso for BRAKING brake pads.. Cost ard $50 plus.. Might as well consider teking Honda OEM cuz almost same price range..

Hopefully, wen i go to M-teknik wf Ian after NDP, dey gt BRAKING disc in stock.. read good reviews on the disc.. heard oso its cheaper dae oso.. :thumb:...

Get the 1k man.... The 125 is very smooth, comfortable and petrol saving. but the downside is the bike got no power, no torque and no top speed...:cheeky:

thanks AJ for the links :) (im actually the viewer thats meeting nineh tmr night. his friends sound like they would kill me if i bought his bike...)

stantheman> i've only got 2b at the moment, taking 2a soon. will have to wait more than a year more to ride a 1000cc! another problem - im a skinny girl, already worried about handling the vara 125. yeah, i heard that the 125 is quite underpowered... but i love the dakar shape and size.

my alternatives for touring are to wait abit and get a drz400 or dr650.

does anyone know if the vara125 faces problems of needing frequent overhauling (because the small engine has to REALLY work overtime on all those long touring trips)?

thanks lots for the advice everyone :)
