price range differs for model-version..

carbs generally ard $6-$9k.... efi maybe $10-$15k...

Vara1k is 1000cc.... AT is 750cc ...

Vara1k is heavier.... AT is lighter...

there are other tourers ard; v-stroms(suzuki), tdm(yamaha), transalp(honda),adventure(KTM), GS(BMW).... choose amongst these if tourers are your bike range in mind...

Not just any vara battery,,,,its THEEEE VARA,,,hahahha. Maybe lying ard for a bit too long before you bought bro. Thats the things for batteries bro..I have a strong feeling, it was on the shelves for a while oredi. I hope and pray nothing like that happens to any bro. This is pure and downright unfair for a brand new battery to last only a month. Tsk.

Hows your charging now....is the "new" battery holding its voltage well?

I would think in terms of size, the vara is quite a bit fatter compared to the XRV, thats at one look. There are the perks of riding the XRV. Things like its more agile on offroad terrains due to its lighter weight and having lesser horses in the engines. Its slimmer and seems taller too. Downsides being it comes with laced wheels(spoky rims) and over time, it may be frustrating if yu get punctures...Maybe lighter than the vara but surely still no joe to push it ard when a puncture occurs.

David aka ATwin has also mentioned before that the XRV is underpowered compared to the V1k.

The perks about the VARA is that its surely a lil more stable due to wider tyres, its a bit heavier so on touring, that is surely appreciated, its also got two pipes instead of the XRV's 2-1 configuration. It also runs on enkei alloy wheels compred to the previously mentioned XRV's laced wheels.

The vara is very much at home mainly on the roads but with skill, its amazing off road too, not to mention with proper tyres too. Otherwise i think the differences are not too many bro.

Both are good bikes but the power and size and beauty of the V1k is surely appreciated by us V1K riders. Its surely a sweet ride.

Mah and boon siew still have the 07 model brand new, from the last i enquired last year....It was 24k machine. May have gone up due to the yen's crazy rise lately. Personally, like what i have done,,i will still get the V1K.

That's weird bro... My oem yuasa batt lasted long for me. Best u stick to oem for this kind of things. Do you connect many gadgets to ur batt?

well...Thanks....:shy:

you should know why i am still keeping the TDM...

the power and torque,a little close to the vara...serious...it is way way lighter than my AT,and now the vara is making me feel like i am riding a dinosaur....

the TDM weight is abit similar to the transalp650,dry 193kg.so do your math, weight of transalp, power a little like Vara....

Except, the suspension is more of tourer bike...and the lousy ground clearance....so that could hinder the serious off-roading...

The Vara i believe, would be best suited as Tourer...not trailie like the AT.and yes, best comfort seat.

For my Vara,at the moment,i would love to have a pair of aftermarket cans...then i will judge it again from there and see where to move on from there....
