Maybe u can seek advice from the efi bro...dok,freerangestormer or KC for better advice since they r riding with the efi model. What is ur FC now...can match with our carb model ard 17-18km/l..

Well....the owner told me he got about 330-350km before the reserves light goes on...

my 1st week, after i pump full tank,i got as low as 257km and reserves light on...riding most of the time in town area and about 40% highway...maybe 35.

after then,i got pump in the STP Fi cleaner dunno if it works during refueling...

Was monitoring the milege, until the bike died at traffic junction becoz stupidly i missed the clutch at 150 odd km...and somehow the clock reset...well,i thought it could be the batt, but that was that...no more clock reset...

So,till last Sun refill,i am now just about to reach 200km...so still monitoring...it sure sux having a super gigantic tank and which can only bring you to a limited distance...

I went to HKL last week, talk to the fellow you intro...i did told him that my bike is efi model...he acknowledge and said can try do dyno and do some cleanup on the fuel pump, airfilter and some checks...and have to leave the bike for 1 day at least...so i told him i will hop by the following week, which was somewhat yesterday...strangely,another mech told me,a different story....that i must have PC for them to do the tuning and dyno...in which i told him i was told a different story last week by the mech you intro..he asked that fella, then he came back,oh,he thought it was the carb...duh!

So,still have some not so good impression with the bike...but well...a little fun with the performance...well...just a little...would love if it can be cured however...

P.s.

Would try for permit for tomoro...i see you tomoro if everythg's is kewl.:thumb:

hey guys....can anyone shed some lights on where i can sent to service or do a check on my DeroFi?

It seems that i am not getting good FC....went to HKL like what recommended by ATwin...but they say they can't do much tuning unless i fitted PC....is it a must to do dyno or tune without the PC?

All i need is a place where i can sent the pig for a check....somebody who might really know.....

thanks in advance....

My FC was 18-21/22km/h. FI is not really good for city riding but for long distance highway riding, FC is better than the carb model. FC is all DEPEND on personal riding patten... Full bore every time FC will be high!! we have discuss this earlier in the forum is to changing gear every 3K rpm is the best to save petrol... moreover this is a 1000CC bike tend to consume petrol. i rode a 1300 now and FC is 15/16 km/h i feel is normal.

All FI model and all make cant be tune if you don't have a PC or other fuel air controler. The only thing you do is only throttle synchronizing, change KnN air filter and clean fuel injector. If you change the exhaust is wise to get a PC to tune it you will feel the different!!:thumb:

well...i dont full trottle bah...

change gear around 3.5 rpm....always cruise about 90-100km/hr at highways...mostly city riding...of coz la full tank...kns....:sian:

full tank at GP hit over 40RM...about 22ltrs of fuel...

the bike already comes with K&N...yup...like what you said,i wish to get this things done....throttle syn, clean airfilter and clean fuel injector...that's actually what i meant...you have any shops to intro?

i have'nt got the chance to remove the tank just yet to see what's underneath....hopefully this weekend....just afraid that i have no strenght to lift the fuel tank...

Just some hopeful thoughts, seen any deros using AT's fuel tank before?

there are 2 fuel hose... do turn off before removing tank. and remember to turn it on again when finish. do not remove the filter cover cos there are many wire connected to it,if you insist to remove, remember where it goes or take pics.... if your mileage is about 80k+ do standby for a fuel pump and a a oem batt can last you 3yrs max....

Ya old uncle like us cannot everytime ride big & heavy bike.....

AT > Uncle can still have fun :p

Tony > glad to hear you are mobile again, walk like peguin eating too much fish or stay too long in aircon :)

AJ > FI can manage 17-18 kl/L around town more on longer run, check the seals between the throttle bodies and head, try Ken at M-Technik Paya Ubi, honest and straight talking.

KC > come back to the dark side :thumb:

My rear Anakee still good with almost 20k.

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

Posted

KC : well....that's sux...mine just 1k over 80k...and i heard from ATwin,the fi fuelpump cost 200++...:dozed:

wahpiangs...and thanks for the heads up with the tank and airbox thing...:thumb:

FRS : thanks for the output...really appreciate it...i will try DIY 1st...and try 1 full tank and see....if still the same,i will go to look for Mr Ken...:thumb:

Cheers

AJ >> the route u travel also plays a part in ur FC. If ur travel pattern is mainly city, it will be high. And the difference could be up to 15% vs highway

and today...ride to GP with ATwin and err....the angmoh on the varafi....did'nt catch the name...tsk...

my bike, did go till 296km and still the reserves light did'nt light on...as reach the petrol station at GP southbound...so,was extremely happy...:shy:

did the kiasu trying to squeeze as much petrol as i can like suggested...

below the RM40 mark...impressive...RM37

But after did the calculation of 296/20.5ltr= 14.4km/ltr

Maybe i suggest your further monitor the fuel consumption again...

Now your tank is full of petrol , i think it will be very heavy to lift up unless u siphon all the petrol out or wait when the petrol level is low.

Zman>> gotta check your tire thread as well, mileage cant be a good indication its just a guide a better way is to do a physical check . If the tire is botak then clear cut to change.Else very dangerous even at dry weather

8000km and ur mechanics say u need to change tyre...that was pretty fast. Check with thread whether is it Botak or ask your experience friend to check your tyres if you are not so sure...Happy riding with vara..
