Sorry to disappoint. Its no bikini bike wash :cheeky:. Instead its a charity bike wash raising funds for Community Chest. This is organised by my colleagues and myself. It will be held at a Mutlti storey carpark ard towner rd, a central location. More details of the exact location with the map will be available soon. All funds collected will go to community chest. Those who are afraid of discrepencies or afraid that we will be installing gold taps in our toilet with the donations :p , not to worry. Collection details will be made available to all who donated at a later date upon request. In addition, all donations will be documented at the location. We appreciate a min amount of $10 per bike so as to make the effort as fruitful as possible. Those who wish to give more, pls feel free to to do so. Date is 4TH OCT, SUNDAY, BTW 10AM-3PM. We hope to gather at least 50 bikes. We are approaching a few bike forums consisting of our friends for this event. Pls help to pass the word around. Thanks! God Bless!

POINTS TO NOTE

We will exercise great care in washing the bikes so as not to damage any parts.

Only colleagues who are bikers will wash the bike.

All washing components will be coming as donations from our own pockets. So don expect top range products to be used.

We are not professional bike washers. So don expect a spotless bike wash.

Thanks for your understanding.

Overview of the event

The bike wash is one of several activities we are planning to raise funds for Community Chest. For more info about ComChest, pls log on to (http://www.comchest.org.sg/comchest/default.aspx?tabid=78). The grand finale of these will be a 24 hrs run in Dec. 30 men from our troop will be taking turns to run for the duration. We are also looking for companies to pledge donations for every hour of the run. We are only seeking donations from family and friends as it it a private initiation and we do not have any form of professional audit or documentations being done. Rather then going around asking for cash, we decided to provide our services in exchange for donations. All proceeds will be handed over to ComChest during our annual dinner in Jan 2010.

All>> just collected my bike back from HKL, so decided to do a field report in case any bros need to do up their bike in the future can cross check

Items done

1. Dyno Tune

2. Rear Shock refurbishment

3. New fuel **** with sensor installed

4. Replaced new hella horns

All I can say is

Facilities *****

Service *****

Competency *****

Waiting time ***

Price ***

I have installed a new set of dynojet kit on my bike few months back. The package includes installation and tunning. However , being a anal guy, I simply can't accept nothing less than near perfect. hahaha

HKL has being patience and professional with me. This is my 3rd time on the dyno machine. What I can say is that their chief mech Ah Xiong is both patience and professional. He bother to cross check with me on whats wrong. So he can pay attention to the rpm range thats giving me problems. He explained to me how and why he choose the set up for me. All these months I have went back to them for retuning, he been accommodating. I dare to say if its other shop, guess they would have asked me ride to Marina South fly kite. haha

Guess their motto is not 1 time biz type. When I paid for a set of jet kits, I also paid for satisfaction. Cos they would make sure when a customer buy from them , installed ; they would be satisfy. I retune my bike till i am happy and they make it possible.

So I would recommend all bros who wanted a set of jet kits or PC3 , go to them. Pain is 1time but the follow up is good.

Then pertaining to my rear shock, make was Technoflex.

Really tecno, aka shake head...

I didn't realised that all this years I am riding my bike with a busted oil ring. I remebered when I first bought it, the adjuster had a funny feel. No clicks at all when i turn it. When I rode back to show the shop , they claim its like that- normal...

So I accept it loh, they are the agent and its a god-damn-new shock. Not knowing that ITS NOT NORMAL. That time I also newbie , 5 yrs back then. Then as time goes by I also forgot about it as the bike shop I went to for servicing also didn't say anything abt it even thou i asked them to help me set up the suspension. ( guess they didn't do anything at all !!!)

This time when I was at HKL I requested Ah Xiong to help me check. He called me and informed me that the shock is busted. So he recommend to overhaul it. After overhauling he even explain to me that what direction we turn the knob will yield what effect. Turn how many clicks will be hard and when too hard what will happen..etc Guess we don't get that often at other bike shop.

Now the ride is sweeter, I can have more interaction with the road. And best of all , I can hear and feel clicks when I turn the adjuster.LOLx

If I were to change shock again should my wallet permits, I will go for Ohlins and no doubt I will purchase and install at HKL

Fuel valve sensor installation.

Good job. They make sure it works after installing it. And they made some mods to it to make it functional after installing. I been to some shop that only installs and thats it.

Well long time never post lengthy post due to work committment but this is a worth while post as its a good shop that knows their job and will attend to you regardless you arecheena, angmoh, melayu or indian.

Just my 2 cents worth =)

Jason, kudos to you on getting ur fatgerl in prestine condition worth your satisfaction..

I am not adding more 'flavour' to HKL but i agree that the guys there are able to cater to you; even though you might not be satisfied the first time, their aftersales is very admirable..

most of the brudders know that my previous motodiam did a darn **** job on my fatgerl. HKL did the clean up to restore my bike back to pleasurable riding condition.. since then, my numerous trips back has been nothing less than worth continuing to endorse my support..

my last trip was a simple EO change... finally changed to Belray V-twin EOs, added with LC20 for extra smoothness and fresh Oil filter.. since then, riding has been great... i noe that HKL will continue to give their best service to my 'aging' fatgerl...

Received the email from the singapore dream couple ....

hello david.

i really appricate the help from u guys raising fund for our trip. the S$490 is still untouched. we have reached alaska and had set a new record, being the first singaporean couple to ride from argentina to alaska, the whole America continent!

it is cold at this moment because our timing had been delayed due to the broken engine.

back to the sticker:

actually, i don't feel comfortable about selling the sticker. it would be good to give those that had donated, letting them to know that we, Asians, can still ride the world.

for what you and the group has done, i really got the boost. whenever the weather is freezing and i thought of U-turn, i thought of you guys, giving me so much support and i must do it.

leaving a message at my blog is also the good booster. i will also print some of that sticker here in alaska to paste it around the signboard, where other bikers also had done it too.

thank you
