Hi All:

My bike is under warranty and I use my bike to work about 4-5 times a week with about 20 km each time. Now the battery is dead and the agent says that it is because of under-usage. I thought the battery will not charge up only if you don't use for an extended periood of time. Does it mean that I must travel long distances most of the time for the battery to last longer? Is it true that travelling short distances even everyday also is not good for the battery? My friend told me that as long as I use the bike often regardless of the distance, the battery should not get spoiled so soon. Please help as I think the agent is trying to push the blame on me.

What bike are you riding?

Can you push start the bike? Or you have replaced the battery already?

If you can push start your bike, find your battery terminals and use a multimeter to measure the voltage.

When you throttle, the voltage should go up. If it doesn't, most likely your rectifier is faulty and that is why even if you used it daily, the battery will not get charged up.

Good luck :/
