guys,

who is interested in paint protection film?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Paint-Protection-Film-3M-Scotchcal-48-X60-Hood-Nissan-/220643305418?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item335f5da7ca

Looks like can DIY :p

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scotchgard_Paint_Protection/Film/Resources/FAQs/

How is Scotchgardâ„¢ Paint Protection applied to a vehicle?

A.

Wet application is required for a clear appearance.

Using a solution of soap and water, spray the application area on the vehicle, the adhesive side of the film and your fingers. This allows you to move the film into its desired position. Continually re-wet the film, the vehicle and your fingers with the soap and water solution throughout the application process. 3M suggests two drops of Johnson's Baby Shampoo to 16 ounces of water. Now it's time to secure the film in place, using a solution of 25% isopropyl alcohol and 75% water.

Here you go guys. Might not be the best pic due low illum.......

photo-3.jpgphoto-4.jpg

Personal opinion - The original backrest serve no value add to support my lower back, the angle is just too reclined to be of any usefulness. I would need to slouch to have any bit of my back rested plus it kills my leg space. You can see with this the amount of seat you opened up for your butt as well.

Wow the quality from the pics look fantastic!:thumb:

If you don't mind can post the address so those who want good quality upholstery can go there, thanks:)

Just, did a back thread.

So it's Jalan Besar Auntie Shop.

There's only 1 auntie there only right?

And it's the Uncle that did the seat?

I long long time didn't go there Liao, if I am getting the shop right, 7 years ago :p

Hmm how did they secure the cushion?

No doubt man, workmanship is awesome. There are 2 auntie shop, one in Jln Besar and 1 at Lavender. This one was done at Lavender. The friendly n patient young chinaman dismantled my seat and went to another accessory shop few doors down (not 219) to do his craft. outsourcing maybe but I settled my bill at auntie shop eventually.

If I were to cut n trim down my original backrest would only cost half as much, cos he reckon he could salvage the original fabric to resize n re-stich them up. I have done small car upholstery wraps at car ICE shops n they come up to few hundreds for some simple job.

Hmm how did they secure the cushion?

Detach middle segment (with he two holes) and attached the new cushion. Full re stitching, not exactly a wrap over.

With the original backrest remove your pillion will not need to 'open' their legs so wide plus your partner can be closer to you like you wanted. Just take care not to e brake unnecessarily cos now they will slide forward without that piece of stopper there previously.

$40 bro. The bikeshops around that street have similar services. I called auntie shop number and the chap who answered mentioned that the fellas at the lavender branch are 'better' so there I went.
