In Singapore, I got quoted SGD200 just for belt, at Johor, it's the same stock part from SYM and it costs less than half of that... Madness...

Get the SHAD. Looks the coolest. Waterproof. Most importantly, super solid and doesn't shake, even when offroad.

I second that

I've seen every brand on Maxsym shake except for SHAD. And it's cheaper than GIVI.

Including Givi vibrates and shakes too?

GIVI is a good brand. I've been using GIVI for years. Thing is, I didn't know a box existed that didn't shake. Till I switched to my Maxsym and it came with a SHAD. In fact, I was surprised that it didn't shake. Because my perception was GIVI was the high quality brand and SHAD is the cheaper competitor. GIVI is curvier and more suited for curvy objects. SHAD is flatter and more suited for flatter objects. One thing though, some SHAD boxes might "squeak" due to the vibrations between box and mount. I fixed my squeak by placing layers of cork in between, and now mine has no squeak and no shake.

I just came back fm SYM Johor. For CVT servicing and 10K km EO change.

Belt shows some small insignificant crack but still can last at least another 3K km. I was quoted RM 585 for the belt w/o service where else locally MAH $180+GST w/o service.

At page33, someone posted $160 for the belt selling at WEDA @Rowell rd.

Rollers 8pc set 15gms at RM120 w/o service.

Only spend today, oil filter Rm22 plus RM45 for CVT servicing, brought along my own EO. Over there they don't sell fully synthetic EO.

The mechanic mentioned something about no requirement using fully synthetic ones as the scooter is not gear driven unlike motorcycle. Just use regular/ semi synthetic EO but change at 3K interval at the same time can service CVT. ...makes sense?

BtW. Anyone using Dr.Pulley drive? Mine as uneven wear on the clutch plate.

Advise anyone?

I was today also between 3pm and 5pm

Did my engine oil, gear oil, cvt clean, oil filter and spark part changed

Cost me rm210

5000km service

Left at 2.30pm for Pelangi Pasar Malam. RM210 very reasonable especially when they take the time to service the CVT. Did you BYO? All items are from their shop?

Really? Hmn... Strange... I guess Malaysian SYM riders should be coming over for cheaper maintenance instead! For engine oil I'm using this:http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/17/gypeqe8a.jpg

I think we should start selling our belts in Malaysia instead, for a profit...

Not sure what you mean. But for myself, it's an off day, just enjoy the ride, check out the local makan trend and service the bike. I think for general bike servicing, price is reasonable. One thing I'm quite certain, SYM agent charges MSRP with GST for parts plus service charge for installation where else their authorised dealers may charge you only for the parts inclusive of installation service probably cos high margin on parts.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.
