Not to dampen any potential buyers interest in this bike but my bike is on tow to Mah now.

Parked my bike to buy bak kwa & cny goodies, didn't do steering lock but pressed the little button to close keyhole shutter.

Returned to my bike, open the shutter and darn......unable to slot key into keyhole since. The second layer and keyhole not aligned, key cannot penetrate. Went around begging for tools at coffee shop n 7 eleven no avail. Had to SOS wifey to grab the biggest flathead screwdriver and send to my location, at 1 am. Got the tools, tried to pry my guts but the inner slot wouldn't bulge abit to align. Gave up, called tow.

Just got home. Will not be nice tomorrow at Mah.

same here too..

get towed back to mah 3weeks ago and its a 5min job he just turn back the screw of the key hole and okay alrdy..

Till today its working fine :D

Mah mech say that the first ring and the locking ring got stuck and he adjusted and put lubricant.

I am not sure till today how it can get stuck.

But my advice to all maxsymers, dun play around with the lock button especially when you are not locking your handle bars i.e without turning your handlebar, just take out the keys and press lock. (DONT DO THIS OR PLAY WITH THE LOCK BUTTON) This thing can happen to any one without warning. DO TAKE NOTE GUYS

For me I always press the key hole lock but not steering as to

Prevent water going in if it rains and to move about without taking out the keys to unlock the steering.

Short stop nia to pick up my CNY stuffs, less than 3 mins to and from bike, ended up staying with bike for 3hours until tow came along.

Anyway I *******ised the lock until 'Dog Chew' (Hokkien translation) with my tools last night, I think they have to remove the entire assembly and put in a new one, I don't care, was desparate to get home then, told them to change it out, even if its to change new set of keys.

When arrived this morining Uncle Chew saw my fuming face and was professional enough to talk and explain to me patiently. Cannot bear to get angry with this nice old man so let it go as a one off incident.

They haven't called. I told them to do 1st servicing and Airbox mod as well since bike is there though I am at 850km only.

I do hope they change out the entire key assembly.

you go to 小老婆机车论坛 also?

Yes, Jorsindo site, what better way to find info about Taiwan bike than from the country of origin itself.

Very informative and they improvise stuff by themselves.

Fixed.

Some locking mechanism at the second layer got broken and dislodged. Fixed but entire assembly not changed out as they do not have the whole part. However since this is the second occurrence they have taken photo evidence and sent to SYM for feedback and claim. They will call me once the items arrive.

As of now, my keyhole is fugly.........But all fixed, and enjoyed the ride home after EO change out. Smooooooooooth..

I experience this problem one time also. My way of solving this issue is Do not force ...............take out your key and just push handle bar to the left end which is the steering lock position until you hear the knocking sound from the locking assembly then insert key and try again, it should be fine.:thumb:

it should not be hitting on the bracket on the top after the mod.

Okay, and I do see the forms where they key in the work done for the Airfilter box mod, was indicated.

Another thing, do note the suspension collar (the chrome rotating part) may not be a good indicator of your setting. The best is to verify it physically. Previously, I had my settings assumingly at 3, but when I looked at each of them, they don't look balanced at all. The gap between the collar to the joints on each side were not equal. Thus what I did was rotate till the highest setting, and then reverse 2 clicks to get my "3" setting. I highlighted to the Mech, he said it's a known thing. If you compress the springs enough you can actually spin the collar without adjusting the settings at all. Thus the numbers on the collar will not be a good indicator anymore.

And since the suspension had settled in after these few weeks I got him to set it at "4", i observed he used the same technique, set to highest and reverse 1 click.

I did that before using any unorthodox method (tools), didn't help.

My spring or number match to each other.

I want to change to a more tour looking like box, the E33 Givi (free) cannot make it. And it rattles like a snake.

How much is the Shad one? And where can I lelong this E33?
