You have to get a Recharger Kit (Cleaner) for cleaning a Airfilter, there are two buttom in a kit, there is a full detail show how to do with them. Basicly, about 10000 Km for a next cleaning.

underneath the oil tank. therefore, got to take out the oil tank before you can reach your air filer.

Philosophy A: Ignore what everyone else thinks. Riding is a better way to get around. Ride paranoid and keep your skills sharp

Philosophy B: Ride with somebody who's better than you. You will pick up a handy trick or new skill just about every time you are out

Philosophy C: You don't need a big bike to prove ur passion for riding

The Air-filter for Ver S is located at the left side of the bike. (Gear shift side). You got to remove the black in color plastic cover that pop out a little. Just beside the fuel switch. If you look carefully, it is only one screw attach to it inside, a small screw. Take that out, then you will see three hexagon nut, remove the three, then take out the cover. There you are the air filter !!! jus pull it out can liao.

But for other model I dun know liao.

i wan to install knn air filter . and i feel that my bike needs to do tuning too. reason bike vibrates right before the clutch fully released. ( only happens if i release fuel therottle slowly)..anyone encounters this??

2) is it compulsory to wash the carb in order to do tuning??

3) how much of freeplay is allowed on the chain?? where is the best place in north or west to do all the three things??

what's a knn filter,. should i replace the stock one on my bike??

Posted

KNN is a brand. This filter can be reuse many time over, but not sure how long can really last (pls ask the more experience bikers here). Maybe after about 2-3 engine oil change, u can ask the mech to give the air filter a blow, to remove any dirt particle stuck in the filter, and can be use again, unlike the stock ones cannot last.

Since u mention earlier (in another thread) dat ur bike is 4mths old, so can wait a while longer before changing.

Browse our sticky topics on the component cost, ur guys in here had been very active updating watever component price they found at diff shops.

i don't think is a good idea to use air pressure gub to blow on a K&N filter. This way it will damage the wool.

KNN Air Filter: Just change it today...

For cleaning and washing of it, i don't know how to do it but would reconmend to let the bike shop do it...

It cost me abt 75bucks.(can be reused by washing and cleaning)

Stock Air Filter abt 35SGD (use once only)

But to remove air filter, oil tank must be remove...

Neccessary to wash carb when doing tuning, today the uncle just told me only... when doing tuning, you need to do 'something to the carb' (i missed out that part as it was too noisy... but he ended when, "better if can do servicing of carb when doing tuning"

"Burn rubber, not your soul... "

LAB also sell the KNN filter cleaner about $15. Quite easy to wash the filter actually and it also state that do not use a blower to blow dry the filetr as it will be damaged.

What i usually do is get a spare cheap filter frm LAB (abt $15) then while i take out my KNN to clean at home, in the meantime i use the spare air filter.

When drying the washed KNN filter, i put in in front of the fan.

Whole cleaning ang drying process about 1- 2 hrs.

Hope this helps.

Combine is near to Ang Mo Kio. There is a golf driving range just across the street. The actual address is 176 Sin Ming Drive. #02-21 Tel:64513386

Its a very big building call Sin Ming Autocare. You won't be able to miss it.
