Laying up bike for 3-6months. Advise needed

Hi all!

 

This might sound stupid.

My insurance and roadtax ends on march. Will be busy from March onwards till maybe September. Totally no chance to ride this bike. For transport, i have another small cub.

 

Was thinking, is it worth the effort to lay up? I feel that paying insurance and roadtax for a totally unused bike just doesn't seemed worth it.

 

Will Laying up affect the resale value? And will the NCD on the bike continue when i renew insurance 3-6months later?

laying up bike will not affect resale value. i think you should transfer your NCD to your small bike, when you decide to put the bike back to the road then transfer the NCD back.

Also , when you have your current ride lay up , do not ever ride it. The moment you're caught OTR on "IT" , you're considered as riding without valid road tax and insurance..road tax is just a heavy fine..but.. insurance would cost your license..
