Bajaj pulsar180 electrical problem

Hi guys,i have got a bajaj pulsar 180UG3,recently when riding,a buzzing sound came from starter relay(next to battery),and electrics would die,it only made this sound with clutch released. I asked a bike mechanic and he said i should take out the clutch switch till i get a new one. This helped for a while. However now recently when riding,all electrics went dead(no lights,speedo console,horn or electric start. ) The speedo needle is stuck half way. I checked the fuse and its fine. local mechanic said the BCU needs replacing.I can still start with kick start. Please advise as to what the problem is.

You try to change the battery lol. Happened to me twice. First time, was a few months when i got my bike. Fast forward yesterday, my light, electricals, starter motor, all dead, not working. Neutral light, all gone. Kick start once, and the damn bike started. Singnal lights flash damn fast, my headlight and tail light all blow. Changed battery and now everything is okay. I just need to check my voltage on my bike, i got no volt meter to make sure its not the rectifier.

Bring ur bike to Universal Motor[Authorize dealer for Bajaj] those bike mechanic know the bike well than anyone else.

Thanks for the replies,the battery was flat,but the bike isnt charging the new battery,only 2 volts is going to the battery,any advice?

How do you know that only 2 volts is going to the battery? Was it checked using a proper multimeter or a bike-mount voltmeter? Sounds like a bad rectifier ...

you might have to change battery...but most importantly could be problem with alternator
