Hi guys. Im quite new to riding class 2 Bikes. never encountered such an issue with the smaller bikes

Is it normal for bigger CC bikes to "consume" engine oil so need top up little bit once inawhile (if havenft reach service intervals yet)

How much do you guys top up normally? Or is this an issue that i should be worried about?

My E.O lamp came up today and i had to top up some oil then the light went away...

hi niteblade. Yes some engines tend to burn oil more than others. to whether it is normal or not, best you check with those riding the same bike. If it burns too much, check for leaks for white coloured smoke coming out from the exhaust. leaks = gasket. White coloured smoke in small amounts is okay if alot, may need an overhaul and your piston ring is worn.

i rode a ta200, shadow vlx 400 and a 1k gixxer.

They all do consume some engine oil. Significant after 2000km. Best to use your dipstick as a guide.

I change oils at 5000km and check at 2000, 3800. Get a funnel and a measuring cup.
